Father :'Awf ibn 'Abd-'Awf
 Mother: al-Shifaa bint 'Awf
Born during the Year of Elephant.
Belonged to the Zuhra clan of the Quraish tribe.
He started a small-scale business in Madinah and became one of the wealthiest merchants.
Abu Bakr spoke to 'Abd al-Rahman about Islam, then invited him to meet Muhammad, who
heard his declaration of faith and taught him the Islamic prayers.
One of the first eight men to accept Islam.
 Services to Islam & Quotation
Fought the Battle of Badr and Uhad.
He gave all he had in Tabuk Expedition.
He led expedition against Christian Governor of Doma-tul-Jandal.
He gave 50000 Dirham in the way of Allah.

The Holy Prophet (SAW) said;

“O Allah! Give Abd-ur Rehman bin Auf drink from Salsabil in Paradise.”
 Death
Died in Madinah at the age of 72.
He was buried on a hill to the north-east of present-day Amman, Jordan.
