Images vs. Photo
Images refer to any digital copies of pictures
stored on a computer device while photos are
strictly pictures captured through the use of a
camera.
Images Cannot Be Photos

 A drawing on paper is simply a picture but not a


photo or an image.
 A saved drawing from MS Paint is an image but
not a photo.
 A printed picture taken originally by a camera is
a photo.

Raster images are produced when scanning


or photographing an object.

Vector images are made up of paths or line


art that are infinitely scalable because they
work based on algorithms rather than pixels.

Image manipulation or photo manipulation


refers to a process of altering an image from its
original state using a software to achieve the desired
result.

Photo retouching is the altering of an image to


remove or repair damage or unwanted blemishes or
objects.

The term photoshopped is now used to refer


to photographic images that are edited digitally.

 Be careful when changing the size in pixels of a


digital image.

 Blacks should be black while whites should be


white.

 Do not over-saturate images. The edited image

• minor color correction;

owner has for his
copyrighted work.
