Course Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
CILO1. Contrast technical writing and other types of writing in terms of
importance, characteristics, audience and scope.

CILO2. Write documents and technical research papers following proper


writing process, effective technical reading, organization, documentation,
citations, formatting and typesetting.

CILO3. Present technical reports and proposals using appropriate strategies


that address both homogenous and multiple types of audiences.

Check-up quizzes & Seatwork will be given at the end of each topic to check the student’s
comprehension.
Attendance It means that the student must be present during the synchronous meeting.
Presentation of Research Work & Class Performance (Individual/Group) will be given at
the end of each lesson. To be submitted or presented on or before the set deadline.

• Once a week, the teacher shall be available for online


consultation. Virtual office hours will be one hour in the
morning and one in the afternoon using group chat and

Netiquette for Students

1. Review and read carefully all the received electronic


materials and ensure full understanding of the
message;
2. Be sure to carefully re-read, proof read and
ascertain that the outgoing document contains the
right message and is free of errors before sending.

3. Avoid cluttered messages that with excessive


emphasis (stars, arrows, exclamations). When
responding to a message, the original
content/message or relevant part may be included
to eliminate confusion;

4. Be specific and clear, especially when asking


questions;

5. Useappropriately UPPER and lower case in typing


messages. Using all the UPPERCASE characters
conveys the impression of shouting and makes the
message less readable;

6. Compose comments and messages in a positive,


supportive, and constructive manner;

7. Give honest feedback;


8. Observe virtual office hours;
9. Avoid uttering swear words, visiting inappropriate
sites, and opening social media accounts to ensure
full participation during online classes;

10. Turn cell phones off or set them to mute as it is


very disruptive to the learning environment to have
these devices go off during synchronous session;
11. Wear appropriate dress code, preferably with collar
or blouse during online sessions;
12. Avoid drinking any intoxicating materials of
whatever kind while attending online

Student's Requirements

A Student must have a Gmail account is a must in


this subject. The email account must have the
student's profile photo (with a recognizable
photo), and that the student must use his or her
full name, and never a nickname or an alias. It
also expected that students will check their
email at least twice a week.

 Studentsare also required to have an official Facebook


account with his or her recognizable profile photo and full
name which will be used for academic purposes.
 Enrolled students must join the Private Facebook Group.
You will receive a Facebook private group invitation, so
please accept it. This private group serves as the virtual
social learning space where students are welcomed to post
or share any information, materials, and any other
resources which you think would be valuable for everyone.

 UC Learning Management System: As you may


already know that we will use the institutional LMS
for the entire semester. In the meantime that the
said LMS is not fully functional, we will utilize Google
Suite and Facebook in the conduct of the distance
learning.

1. Cheating
Cheating includes multiple submission of any academic exercise using
unofficial email account in the LMS (Google classroom) for credit without prior
authorization and approval of the instructor. 

2. Plagiarism
Presenting someone else’s work as though it is his/her own.

3. Fabrication – Inventing or falsifying any data,


information, or records. 
Attendance

• Synchronous session is 20% of the total number of required


class hours in a semester/term. Students are required to
attend at least 50% of the synchronous
session specified in the course.

• Students attending below the minimum required


hours will be considered dropped.
