Case study
 Sunil Bharti Mittal ,who has built his empire in
telecom industry with 140 million subscibers.
 Sunil Mittal set to build 550 schools to educate
100000 poor children ,inside India’s villages.
 Bharti foundation set up in 2000 with corpus
fund of 200 crore.
 Sunil Mittal has made improvement in schools
provided number of sufficient teachers etc.
 All the schools are built according to a blue print
drawn up by Delhi-based architect.
 Schools is located in half an acres of land and
five classrooms (1 to 5) and a staff room
facilities.
 Other facilities like toilets ,a vegetable
garden,and a playground and each school has
internet connection.
 Skill building initiative are undertaken for all the
students in their final years in the secondary
school.
 Each and every students can pursue their studies
or if they want to take job based on the skills
they have acquired.
 For doing all this he studied the US model where
individuals and corporate had made
commitment towards social responsibility.
 IBM is installing a computer in every school with
games and other features that are meant for
education.
 PWC and E&Y are auditing the foundation
books of accounts free.
 Deutsche Bank has adopted 4 school and Wal-
Mart has accepted 1.

you offer?
Ans:
 Yes Sunil Mittal is on the right lines as mention in the last lines of the case
itself.

 “Sunil Mittal is true & genuine CSR initiative”

 He financial support to government and

NGO’s organisation.
 He emphasized to built school on Delhi based
architecture .

 Skill building initiative are undertaken for all the

students in their final years in the secondary
school.

Can other organisation replicate

Mittal’s model of CSR?
ANS 2:

Yes, other organization can also replicate Mittal’s model

& can create a positive image of themselves in society &
help them in some of the other way.

2)- Excellence in all we do.

3)- Innovation in all area of business or a mean

of attaining & sustaining leadership.
