Causes of Infertility

Infertility Treatment
• Fertility drugs: these are hormones that can be given to a women
whose menstrual cycle is not working properly,
• or who is not producing eggs. She may be given FSH to encourage
follicles to develop, & LH to stimulate ovulation

• Positive implications
• It can relieve stress that some couples experience because
they cannot have children.
• In a country with falling population, it can increase the
number of births.
• Negative implications
• The use of fertility treatment may conflict with religious
beliefs.
• There is an increased risk of multiple births
• The treatment is expensive, not easily affordable..

Transmission of HIV
• Through sexual intercourse when it is passed from one person to
another in fluids in the penis and vagina.
• Through blood-blood contact , for example in blood transfusion or by
sharing needles for injections;
• Through breast milk, from mother to baby.
