construction of building and bridges are
triangles?

the classroom know your
answer...
Essential Questions
● Why the use of triangles’ properties is
so important to determine the areas of
certain figures?
Learning Outcomes
I will understand...
• What properties (sides and bases)
differentiate the triangles.
• How properties of triangles are useful to
determine the area of a certain figures in
real-life scenarios.
Key concepts:
- Equilateral Triangle
- Isosceles Triangle
- Scalene Triangle
- Acute Angled Triangle
- Right Angled Triangle
- Obtuse Angled Triangle
What a Triangle is?

• a plane figure with three straight

sides and three angles.
● Triangles can be classified by sides.

Let’s practice!!
Let’s practice!!
• Identify triangles by side lengths
● Identify triangles by angles
Determine congruent triangles
• Two triangles are congruent if they have:
exactly the same three sides and exactly the same
three angles.
But we don't have to know all three sides and all
three angles ...usually three out of the six is
enough.
Remember, the addition of three interior angles
Determine congruent triangles
• There are five ways to find if two triangles are
congruent: SSS, SAS, ASA, AAS and HL.
