SITUATION 1. PAST SIMPLE REVIEW

- Please, read the text about Arlene’s childhood.
- Collect as much information as you can (6 minutes to do it)
- Get ready to answer some questions.
- Be careful about your grammar and vocabulary when
answering the questions (Past Simple emphasis)
SITUATION 2. PRESENT SIMPLE REVIEW
- A JOB INTERVIEW-
- Please, watch the video about a job interview.
- Collect as much information as you can (5
minutes to do it)
- Get ready to answer some questions.
- Some of the questions will simulate a real interview, your
professor will explain it in advance.
- Be careful about your grammar and vocabulary when
answering the questions (Present Simple emphasis).
SITUATION 3. GERUNDS & INFINITIVES
- CHILDREN’S HOBBIES-
- Please, watch the video about some children’s hobbies;
remember to take notes.
- Collect the information from the children the teacher asked
you to do (2 minutes to do it)
- Get ready to answer some questions.
- Remember to correctly include Gerunds and Infinitives in your
answers.
SITUATION 4. PAST TENSE EVENTS / PRESENT PERFECT REVIEW
- NATIONAL DOCUMENTARY-

- Watch the video your professor will send/share with you.


- Get ready to answer questions based on the video and personal
opinions.
- To complete this complete task, you will have 30 minutes.
SITUATION 5. PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS
- LIFE STORIES-
- Listen to a recording about a woman’s life, Sara Rossi.
- Your professor will tell you to create 3 questions about the
video to interact with your classmates.
- Questions must be about what Sara said. Include Present
perfect Continuous, mostly. (Example: How long …* )
- You will hear the audio just twice or three times, while creating
the questions.
- Get ready to interact with your peers
- Finally answer some personal questions your professor will
eventually ask you.
SITUATION 6. SEQUENCERS - TELLING A STORY-

Instructions
Part 1
- Watch the video about some friends who are having a barbeque; remember
to take notes while doing so. (until minute 2:37)
- Get ready to narrate a 2 minute summary of the story using sequencers, and
full details (5 minutes to prepare)
- Include sequencers in your summary, you can use the ones from your Avata
vocabulary chart learnt during the first term

Part 2
- Try to remember a similar situation to Alex’s. Tell your own story about one
of the following alternatives: paying some money unexpectedly / getting
very late somewhere / a worrying event you experienced recently.
