Surah Ana’am

The Cattle
 Translation
• “ToHimisduetheprimaloriginoftheheavensandthe
earth: howcanHehaveasonwhen Hehasnoconsort?
Hecreatedall thethings, andHehasfull knowledgeofall
thethings. ThatisAllah, yourLord! Thereisnogodbut
He, thecreatorofall thethings: thenworship Him: and
Hehaspowertodisposeof all affairs. No visioncan
graspHim, but Hisgraspisoverallvision: Heisaboveall
comprehension, yet isacquaintedwith allthings.”
 Background

• Accordingtothe traditionof IbnAbbas, the whole Surahwas

revealedat one sitting.

• Asma, AdaughterofYazidandfirst cousinofHazrat Mu’az bin

Jabl says ‘ Duringthe revelationof this Surahthe HolyProphet
was riddingontheshe-camel andI was holdinghernose string.
The she-camel begantofeel the weight soheavilythat it seemed
as ifherbones wouldbreakunderit.’

mysteries”

powerandunlimitedknowledge. Soitdemandsusto
demonstrateourfirmbelievebysubmittingHim
• “Forwearenearer tohim(man) thanhisjugular
vein.”(50:16, Qaf)

strikesat therootcauseofshirk.
• Shirkisunpardonablesininsight ofAllah
• So, thecreatershouldberegardedorigional andeternal
andbetrulyworshippedaloneasHisAttributesbeyond
