Angular velocity
• Average angular velocity (w) can be found by dividing theta (the
angular displacement) by t (the total time traveled)
• The angular velocity has a velocity of radians per second
Frequency
• A frequency is the number of repetition per time
• Youcan interpt it as how many times something happens over a period of
time
• Frequency has a unit of Hertz (Hz)
• An example would be a a guy running around a circule at a rate of 20 rpm.
• 20rpm = 20/60 rps =1/3 Hz

Uniform Circular Motion
• An object moving around a circle at a uniform speed would have an
unstable velocity since the direction of the object keeps change.
• The object moving around the circle would experience centripetal
acceleration since its velocity is changing
• Also, notice that the direction of the velocity vector is always
perpendicular to the acceleration vector
Centripetal Acceleration
• The velocity of an object is the distance that is equivalent to the
circumference of the circle divided by the period (T).
• The period T is the time needed to do one full rotation around the circle

• Notice that by this formula, v=2*pi*r*f= wr

• We can also substitute v into the acceleration equation to obtain:
