Electrical protection

OBJECTS:
A. ELECTROMAGNETIC PROTECTION:
For people who work close to power lines &
electrical equipments has possibilities of being
exposed to electric shocks and flammability
hazards.
B. ELECTROSTATIC PROTECTION:
Static charges in textile can hazardous in
paper, plastic, printing, photographic industry.
MATERIAL USE FOR ELECTRIC
PROTECTION.
A. ELETROMAGNETIC PROTECTION:
Rubber gloves, dielectric hard hat & boots,
rubber blankets, sleeve protectors, non-conductive
sticks.
B. ELECTOSTATIC PROTECTION:
Antistatic garments .
PROPERTIES FOR ELECTRIC PROTECTION:
1. Insulation property.

2. Bad conductor of electricity.

3. Low moisture regain.

4. Breathable.
Electric gloves making m/c
Raw Materials used :
Electric resistant boots are made from vulcanized
rubber.
Anti-static garments are made from Polyester,
Cotton/Polyester blends, Polyolefin
Textiles for Fire Protection
Objects :

 To reduce the rate of heating

human skin in order to provide
wearer enough time to react and
escape.

Should poses two functions i.e.

Flame Resistant & form a heat
barrier.
Properties :
 Inherently Fire Resistant.
 Breathable.
 Should give an insulating effects.
 Should not assist in spreading of
flame
Factors Affecting Fire/Heat Protection:
Burning behavior (thermal resistance)
Fabric structure
Thermal inertia (TI)
TI = density x heat capacity x thermal conductivity
Material used:
Fabric:220 GSM 100% cotton
Fibres Used :
• Fire-retardant (FR) finished
fibers:
 Cotton
 Wool
 Rayon
 Polyester

 Fabric Specification :
220 GSM 100% cotton
