Accessing the Omni Vista 8770 Client
1. Obtain your Login name and password from an OmniVista 8770 administrator.
2. Start the OmniVista 8770 client, either from the operating system start menu ( Start > Programs > OmniVista 8770 >
OmniVista 8770 Client), or the OmniVista 8770 client icon available on the computer desktop.
Note: The OmniVista 8770 client must already be installed on the workstation to use this method.

The system requests your login name and password

3. Enter the requested parameters:


◦ Username: enter the login name provided by the OmniVista 8770 administrator
◦ Password: enter the password provided by the OmniVista 8770 administrator
◦ Language: select the interface language
◦ Server Name: modify the name if you want to access a different server.
◦ Remember password: validate this check box to save your login information including your password, on your personal
computer. Your login information is saved and used for your next connection to the OmniVista 8770 client.

4. Click OK.

Main Window Overview
OmniVista 8770 uses a multi-windowing GUI to facilitate the simultaneous use of several applications.

The OmniVista 8770 window consists of:


• A menu bar which provides access to the main configuration options
• An icon bar which provides actions on the active application displayed in the contents area
• An application launch panel which provides access to all the applications of the OmniVista 8770.
Each application is identified by an icon used to launch the application in the content area.
◦ Note: If you are logged in as Local administrator, domain information is displayed in the title bar of the application launch panel .

• A contents area which displays the applications launched


• An application bar which allows to:
• Switch from one active application to another one
• Reopen an active application previously minimized in the application bar
