At the end of this learning unit, you are expected to:

• Identify different types of cleaning done in different


room status condition;
• Apply concept on the logical order in cleaning the
guestroom; and
• Perform cleaning activities to different types of room
condition.

Introduction
• Prior to guestroom cleaning, room attendants
receive a briefing on the day’s activities headed
by the supervisor. Housekeepers collect their
fully equipped cart and work report for their
respective sections. Instead of knocking at
rooms randomly, housekeepers follow a logical
order to avoid guests from being disturbed.

• Check out rooms are serviced first,
followed by rooms with request for early
service, stay over rooms and request
for late service.

should be avoided and ascertained so as
not to distract guests who wish quiet
and privacy.

the room.
2. Cleaning of ceiling (Vacuuming)
3. Door, walls and window cleaning (dusting, washing vacuuming)
4. Cleaning of furniture, fixtures, and appliances (vacuuming, shampooing,
dusting, brushing, polishing)
5. Floor cleaning (scrubbing, scraping, vacuuming, mopping)
