 What Is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

“
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, also called median nerve compression, is a
condition that causes numbness, tingling, or weakness in hand.
It happens because of pressure on median nerve, which runs the length of
arm, goes through a passage in wrist called the carpal tunnel, and ends in
hand. The median controls the movement and feeling of thumb and the
movement of all fingers.
Treatment
Non Surgical Treatment
• Bracing or splinting
• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Symptoms • Activity changes
• Nerve gliding exercises
• Burning, tingling, or itching numbness in palm • Steroid injections
and thumb or finger
• Weakness in hand and trouble holding things Surgical
• Shock-like feelings that move into fingers
• Tingling that moves up into arm

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Causes

• Repetitive motions, like typing, or any wrist

• Conditions like hypothyroidism, obesity, rheumatoid,

activities of patient , some non surgical treatment not effective for patient and
surgical treatment are to risk. Development of more effectively non surgical
treatment are needed to treat patient and avoid surgical treatment.
