Milk Tea Industry in the Municipality of


Lupon, Davao Oriental
Introduction
This study will give emphasis on the consumers of the
flourishing milk tea industry, whether they are individual or
not. The aim of this study is to determine why people afford
to purchase milk tea and to assess the effect of the growing
milk tea industry in the Municipality of Lupon, Davao
Oriental, based on customer satisfaction and preferences.

Research Design
The quantitative method of research was used for this study. This study uses
quantitative research design because it seeks to identify the extent of satisfaction in
the in the services of milk tea industry in the Municipality of Lupon, Davao
Oriental.

Sampling Plan
The study uses probability sampling, alternatively known as random
sampling which he researchers will select samples in a random way that will aid
the study.
Research Locale
This study was implemented to any milk tea consumers and only to
the milk tea consumers inside the premises of the Municipality of Lupon,
Davao Oriental.
Sample Size
The Slovin's Formula is given as follows: n = N/(1+Ne2), where n is the sample size, N is the
population size and e is the margin of error to be decided by the researcher.
Formula:
n = N / ( 1 + NE 2 )
 
where n = sample size
 
N = population
 
E = desired margin of error
The researchers have used 10% margin of error wherein:
n = N / ( 1 + NE 2 )
 
= 65,785 / ( 1 + ( 65,785(0.10)^2))
= 65, 785 / ( 1 + 657.85)
n = 99.84822038 or 100

Research Instrument
Survey Questionnaires. A questionnaire was used as the main data-gathering instrument
for this study. It was provide with three parts, The Demographic Profile (Part I) of the
respondents, The Necessary Features of Milk Tea Providers (Part II), and The Subtopics
(Part III). The data gathered in the questionnaires will serve as an additional information for
the study.
Statistical Treatment
The interpretation of the survey questionnaire used in this study is the Likert Scale.
By using this, the researchers will identify the rate of respondents’ responses. To
determine the minimum and the maximum length of the 5-point Likert type scale, the
range is calculated by (5 − 1 = 4) then divided by five as it is the greatest value of the
scale (4 ÷ 5 = 0.80). Afterwards, number one which is the least value in the scale was
added in order to identify the maximum of this cell. The length of the cells is determined
below:
 From 1 to 1.80 represents (strongly disagree).
 From 1.81 until 2.60 represents (do not agree).
 From 2.61 until 3.40 represents (neutral).
 From 3:41 until 4:20 represents (agree).
 From 4:21 until 5:00 represents (strongly agree).
