Sum & Product of Roots of a Quadratic Equation
••  In
this lesson, we will simply get the sum and the product of a quadratic
equations.

Example:
• The roots of an equation is 5 and 2. The sum of the roots will be 7 (because
5+2), and the product of the roots will be 10 (because 5 2).
Sum & Product of Roots of a Quadratic Equation

• Example 1:
What is the sum and product of the roots of x2 – 3x + 2 = 0?

A. Factoring Method:
x2 – 3x + 2 = 0
(x-2)(x-1) = 0

x–2=0 x–1=0
x=2 x=1
