ABSTRACT

Many older hotels are modernizing their lobbies to meet the

needs of travelers by combining aesthetics and design and
providing guests with the services they need . These are the
factors that motivate customers to choose hotel products.
Environment Have a positive impact on customers’
perceptions and behaviors. Important attributes of the
required physical environment include the aesthetics of the
object, including the role of architectural design; design and
interior decoration; design usability; seat comfort; lighting
and lighting also help to make movement easier or more
restricted. And therefore determine how these attributes
affect your behavior of the entire area around the hotel. The
lobby design Was evolved with the changes in the hotel
industry; . Hotels played an important social, political, and
economic role, and design trends began to bring larger
lobbies but with more modern technology and societal
changes, current trends in hotel lobby design are declining
many concepts that are successful were hotel construction in
the 50s and 70s, so many hotel owners redesign the lobby
with bright colors. , High-tech lighting, furniture and
sculptural surfaces. 1999). Buyers are influenced by lighting,
color, texture, material quality, furniture style and wall
decoration. The role of overall customer satisfaction. Leaves
a lasting first impression (Miller, 1995) In this new era of
political, social and demographic change, social changes and
technological developments will continue to be reflected in
an architectural design (Rutes, Penner and Adams. Hotels
are more diverse today.): “ The challenge for these hotels is
to create an environment. In their own words, it can be used
for multiple purposes .
PROBLEM STATEMENT

With the emergence of many brands, hotels use the lobby

to distinguish products and services. Many veteran hotels
are modernizing their lobby by combining aesthetics and
design, while providing guests with the services they need,
such as high-tech lighting, to meet the needs of travelers.
The furniture and sculptural surfaces represent the latest
trends in lobby design. Space planning is also changing. A
common design error in hotels today is that the lobby is
too small or too large compared to the size of Hotel A.
Compared with other places such as banks and
restaurants.Long-term hotel stay; the longer a person stays
in the institution, the more likely the physical environment
will affect the overall satisfaction with the service. If
customers are not satisfied with the services provided,
they are not allowed to return to the facility. Emotions-
happiness, enthusiasm-these are the factors that motivate
customers. They believe that a stimulating physical
environment can have a positive impact on customers’
perception and behavior. Important attributes of the
required physical environment include the aesthetics of
the object, including the role of architectural design;
design and interior decoration; design usability; seat
comfort; and lighting can also help promote or limit
movement. Physical environment data that emphasizes
the attractiveness of the hotel lobby. The attractiveness of
the hotel lobby and the elements that constitute
aesthetics or aesthetic parameters are the subject of this
research.
RESEARCH PURPOSE

The purpose of this research is to better define the

attractiveness of a hotel lobby And culturally design
hotel lobbies .This research can shed light on the
impact of various design elements on passengers and
the qualities that make the lobby attractive.
The Hotel Lobby – Definitions,
Purposes, and Impacts

The lobby is the fulcrum, center and heart of each hotel; depending on
the building, the lobby is the first place where hotel guests experience
style, atmosphere, service standards and interior design. , After
entering the hotel building, the starting point of interaction between
hotel staff and guests. Therefore, a positive first impression is crucial
and will affect the overall perception and satisfaction of guests. Lawson
(2007, 1999) identified two main uses of the hotel lobby: Basically, the
lobby is regarded as a placeTransportation when entering and exiting
the building or entering various public areas of the hotel, such as
banquet and meeting rooms, fitness centers (if publicly accessible),
various retail stores (such as restaurants, bars, shops). ) And the room.
In addition, the lobby is also used as a waiting area (Lawson, 2007, p.
199). BesidesThe hotel lobby is the area where services are provided,
such as B. reception, concierge or the captain’s phone. Transportation
arrangements, restaurant and sightseeing advice or general advice.
(Lawson, 2007, p. 199) Since the lobby is the main area for guests and
employees, designers must strike a balance between beautiful interior
design and operational requirements to avoid unnecessary traffic, noise,
and overcrowding. Difficulty in circulationThese risks have not been
identified or predicted at an early stage. Not only are functional
effectiveness limited, but overall customer satisfaction declines, and
guests are less likely to stay in the lobby for more time. The hotel lobby
gives guests the feeling of reaching their destination, and even describes
the hotel lobby as the end point. This means that guests can immerse
themselves in another world and be moved by the interior design and
atmosphere when entering the hotel. And atmosphere. Different guests
come to different hotels for different reasons, with different needs and
desires (Curtis 2001, p. 14).7) According to the purpose of travel, the
needs and wishes of guests should not only be considered in the
provision of services, but also in the design of the lobby. For example,
vacationers need casual, enthusiastic, warm and unusual greetings
Especially in resort hotels). Effective,Modern service, design and
equipment. In addition, the needs of travelers during city breaks may
fall in the middle of the two travel examples mentioned above. They
want authentic and friendly service with an urban cultural atmosphere
(Curtis, 2001). 7) There is no doubt that the hotel needs to define the
target market in order to focus on specific market segments and
provide the required services. Johnson and Clark (2008, p. 5759)
developed the so-called “targeted service operation”Focusing on a
limited range of services often leads to more efficient and successful
companies. However, Curtis (2001, p. 7) believes that the general trend
of globalization and modern high-tech lifestyles has led to unclear
boundaries between certain target market segments. “On the one
hand, it encourages guests to request a service portfolio that can obtain
a richer’experience’ in the hotel; on the other hand, it encourages the
hotel to provide a combination of functions” (Curtis, 2001, p. 15). 7).
This concept should also be reflected in the design of the lobby.
Designers and managers should determine the appropriate services
that the front desk can provide so that guests can return to the lobby to
spend time and take advantage of the services and facilities provided.
Chronological Development of Hotel and Lobby Design

The central idea of the hotel, leaving home overnight, dates

back to ancient times. For example, in ancient Greece and
Italy, there were so-called pensions and hot springs and spa
resorts. In the Middle Ages, travelers lived in monasteries
and monasteries. Hotels, guesthouses and clubs were the
first European hotels that focused on having a place to
sleep and continuing the journey the next day Historical
events and revolutions affect the population and cause
general social and political changes The industrial
revolution in the 1790s gave birth to hotels in Europe, and
this is the case. And the United States . Many castles and
palaces are inEurope has become an upper class hotel. This
is the beginning of the so-called grand hotel. These hotels
are designed with elements of luxury, pomp and luxury to
meet the completely different needs of travelers, namely
the need to escape from daily life XIX provides new
industrial opportunities. And social inventions such as
railways and bilateral events such as international
exhibitions, this prompted builders to build hotels in the
area Other tour oper, ators monitored and reported foreign
travel.A wider and more general audience. Due to the
growing interest in other countries and cultures, souvenirs,
paintings and ideas were brought back from the trip, thus
strengthening the neoclassical trend of hotel design

. INTRODUCTION

OVERVIEW:The project “JW MARRIOTT RESORT AND SPA " is proposed on

Jaisalmer – Sam – Dhanana Rd, Police Line, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan .

The hotel was designed by Bobby Mukherjee to balance the city’s rich
heritage with the needs of millennial travelers. . The impressive castle,
sandy plains and culturally immersed population, combined with the
comfort of modern life, symbolize Jaisalmer Marriott Resort and Spa in
Jaisalmer, which was recently designed by Bobby Mukherji and Associates.
The city has deep Indian characteristics, but the modern palace hotel that
reflects the image of the Indian royal family now has impeccable design,
unparalleled facilities and first-class services. Unsurprisingly, BMandA
internally weaves the royal history of Jaisalmer into the ghostly landscape of
the city, which is a commendable work. Leaving the hotel, you will be
immersed in a world composed of long corridors, high ceilings and exquisite
marble floors. The hotel’s interior is beautifully decorated with classic
Jaisalmer motifs, creating an enhanced lifestyle that is an integral part of
the palace experience. The beautifully furnished rooms and suites offer
unparalleled minimalism and luxury. . Bobby Mukherjee, Founder and Chief
Architect of BMandA, said: “We view Jaisalmer’s Marriott Resort and Spa as
the epitome of luxury... The past, present, and future can easily overlap,
and hospitality rules are being rewritten. Hotel design is impressive.
