• 7th pay commission established a new pay matrix and pay scale that will
ensure pensioners and government employees get a 2.57% hike on their
existing incomes and a central government employee will enjoy a salary that
is double than the previous one.
• The govt. has recommended a 16% hike in basic salary + increase in DA
and allowances like HRA. The total increase will be 23.55% of the Gross
salary (Basic + DA + Allowances).
• It has already been implemented from 1st of January 2016.
• The minimum pay in govt. is recommended to be set at Rs. 18,000 per
month. Maximum pay is recommended as Rs. 2,25,000 per month. o Rs.
2,50,000 per month for Cabinet Secretary and others at the same level. The
rate of annual increment retained at 3%.
