Actual running rpm of the kiln by stop watch

• By this we can find speed of the kiln at which it is running.

• For finding actual running rpm of the kiln stop watch can be used.

• Stop watch

 Procedure

• First we mark the reference point on the rotary kiln

• Also make the reference point on the stationary surface
• Start stop watch when both reference point start keeping away and record
the reading after one complete revolution.
Actual running rpm of the kiln by stop watch

• Record the reading until both reference point comes at the same point
after one revolution of the rotary kiln.
• After finding the reading of the stop watch we should divide this reading
by 60.
• After this obtain reading is called the speed of the kiln.
 Example
• Mark the reference point on the
kiln and stationary part.
• After one complete revolution of
kiln record the time in stop watch
till both points coincide.
• Let time is 50sec
 Example
• Divide the 50 sec by 60
• 50/60=0.83 rpm
• So kiln speed is 0.83 rpm.
