Reasons for the re-introduction of Civic Education in Nigerian curriculum

Over the years, it has been observed by

the relevant authorities that the loyalty of
Nigerians to their country is declining.
The sense of values is in a deplorable
state. Added to this is the deterioration of
the morality of Nigerians.

progressive trend is the circumvention
of such laws and a general apathy to
participation in government, with a
few citizens going into government
with a selfish goal.

the only way the average Nigerian could
be re-oriented is by teaching early,
these morals: values, loyalty,
patriotism and orderliness which are
necessary for a good and progressive
nation

Thus, the reintroduction of Civic

Education is to arrest the growing
trend of depravity and thus make
for a future generation of law
abiding, faithful, loyal, morally
sound and patriotic Nigerians.
