 Literature Review
Tuberculosis
TB is caused by the Mycobacterium
tuberculosis, which will develop or
spread when a person with TB disease
expels the becteria into the air, for
example when coughing
TB-DM
From various references, it is stated that
diabetes mellitus is one of the
comorbidities of tuberculosis. Based on
study conducted at the RSKP North
Sumatra, the results showed that in
patients with elevated blood sugar levels
with converted by 8.2% of the total
respondens.
Etiology
People with poor immune conditions are
more susceptible to developing active
TB disease than people with normal
immune systems. Such in cases of HIV,
silicosis, diabetes mellitus, and long
term use of corticosterroid (Kemenkes
RI, 2019)
TB-DM
In the category of decreased blood sugar levels
with converted BTA by 65.3% and non-
converted by 14.3%. It can be seen that the
effect of blood sugar levels on BTA conversion
has a significant relationship (Pulungan, 2020).
