INTRODUCTION
To start dealing with this topic we must first know that it is a verb:
That is, when its simple past and past participle forms do not end
in -ed.
Therefore you must memorize its form in each of these tenses
since these verbs change their structure completely, fortunately
they are limited to a list of approximately 350 verbs, while
there are thousands of regular verbs.
I will show some examples below
IRREGULAR VERBS (Simple Past)
When are we going to use it? To say, what happened in the past (finished action)
-> I ate a pizza yesterday
To express various actions that occurred one after the other in the past
-> I took my bag and walked to my school
More examples:
Present: He buys food every week
Simple Past: He bought food last week
IRREGULAR VERBS (Past Participle)
The past participle is a Spanish conjugation of the verb that indicates something that you
have already done, but that you can still do, a form of the verb that is accompanied by
another verb.
Examples:
I have (I've) slept well(slept is the past participle of the verb sleep)
Yo he dormido bien (dormido es el participio del verbo dormir)
I have (I've) seen the film (seen is the past participle of the verb see)
Yo he visto la película (visto es el participio del verbo ver.)
MORE EXAMPLES:
SIMPLE PAST IN NEGATIVE
In this case, the auxiliary DID appears, and you have to forget about the form of the verbs, since
being the auxiliary, the verb goes in infinitive. Since the sentence is negative, the DID is
negative. Therefore DID NOT, or DIDN´ T is used (it is indistinct to use one or the other, both
mean the same thing)
EXAMPLE:
PAST SIMPLE INTERROGATIVE.
The DID is also used, and at the beginning of the sentence. The verb is not conjugated.
