NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM
 The course mandated by Republic Act No. 9163,
otherwise known as the National Service Training
Act of 2001, refers to the program aimed at
enhancing civic consciousness and defense
preparedness in the youth, by developing the ethics
of service and patriotism while undergoing training
in any of three (3) program components, namely
reserve officer training corps, civic welfare training
service and literacy training service specifically
designed to enhance the youth’s active contribution
to the general welfare.
CIVIL WELFARE TRAINING SERVICE

 refers to the program component or activities


contributory to the general welfare and
betterment of life for the members of the
community of the enhancement of its facilities,
especially those devoted to improve health,
education, environment, entrepreneurship,
safety, recreation and moral of the citizenry and
other social welfare services.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the semester, the student is expected to:
1. To establish an NSTP framework anchored to the
university’s values of honor and excellence in the
service of the people.
2. To instill civic consciousness and defense preparedness
among UP students, developing and understanding of
the vital role of the youth in public service and nation
building.
3. To impart basic competencies required in the conduct of
the NSTP component courses (CWTS, LTS and ROTC).

Each student must prepare a notebook (80 leaves) where all answers in
the module will be written. Each covers of the notebook will be designated
per sections:

BS AB 1A – Blue Notebook
BS AB 1B – Red Notebook
BS IT 1A – Green Notebook
BS IT 1B – Yellow Notebook
Criteria for Checking:

Completeness of Answer:

Complete – 10 (All activities are answered.)


Partially Complete – 8 (Some activities are answered)
Incomplete – 6 (Some activities are not answered)

Cleanliness:

Clean – 10 (No Erasures, Writes Legibly)


Partially Clean – 8 (At most 5 Erasures , Writes Legibly)
Messy – 6 (Many Erasures, Unclear Penmanship)
Criteria for Checking:

Creativity:

Excellent – 10 (Notebook is artistically covered.)


Good – 8 (Notebook is covered.)
Fair – 6 (Notebook is not covered.)

Durability:

Durable – 10 (Withstands pressure and damage.)


Partially Durable– 8 (Not easily damaged/ruined.))
Flimsy– 6 (Can be easily damaged/ruined.)
Criteria for Checking:

Labels:

Complete– 10 (Activities are properly labeled.)


Partially Complete – 8 (Some activities are labeled.)
Incomplete– 6 (Majority of the activities are not labeled.)
