Explanation of bus topology
Bus Topology: A bus topology is a multipoint
communication. Int this topology one single and long
cable (acts as a back bone) used to leave all other
devices in the network.
Nodes are connected to the bus cable by droplines and
taps. A dropline is aconnection between the device and
the main cable.
A tap is a connector used to contact with the metallic
core of the main cable and droplines.
In bus topology any computer can send data to any
other computer's because all computers attached to the
main cable.

Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages:
1. Easy to installation.
2. This topology requires least amount of cables to
connect the computers and therefore less expensive
Disadvantages:
1 A fault or break in thev bus cable stops all transmission.
2 The speed of the bus is slow when heavy traffic.
Star topology
Star Topology consists of a central Node in which
all other nodes are connected. This Central Node
provides a Common Connection Point for all nodes
through a Hub. In this topology, every
node(Computer, Workstation or any other
Peripheral) is connected to a central node called a
Hub or Switch.
Sending of data to tha hub
In Star Topology when Device 1 wants to send Data
toDevice 2
Device 1 first sends the data to the hub,
Which then Relays the Data to the other Connected
Devices.
Properties in star topology
In a Star Topology, Each Device connects to a Central
Network Connectivity device such as a Hub, Switch
or a router. These Devices would be connected as a
"star" The other Property of a Star Topology is that
failing connection will only affect the failed devices
unless that device is the connectivity Device. This
means that in most cases a failing Device on a star
will not take down the entire Network.
Another Property of a Star Topology is that they are
easily Expandable and Scalable
Advantages in star topology
Isolation of Devices
Simplicity
Whole Network will not be Affected
Centralization
*Easy to Troubleshoot
Easy Installation
Disadvantages in star topology
Single Point Failure
Requires More Cable Length
More Expensive
Depends upon capabilities of the Hub
Usages of star network
Star Topology is a Networking setup used with
10BASE-T Cabling.
The Protocols for Star Network are usually
Ethernet. It is a Common type of Network Topology
used in Homes and Offices.
Star Topology is used to ease the Probabilities of
Network Failure by connecting all of the systems to
a Central Node.
Star Topology is used to transmit
Data across the Central Hub between the Network
nodes
Star Topology is used in Local Area Network.
Application of star topology
Star Topology Computer fails to save the Data, if the
Network has some failure so any one of the Computer
can save the Data, as it means if there is any failure in
the Network it does not affect whole Computer it just
affects one Computer. In short you can have a Backup
of Data if there is a Failure in Network.
Used in Local Area Network- Star Topology is a
example for Local Area Network as
they can share two or more Computers
Star Topology is often used in Homes and Offices,
It is mainly used for saving data in Offices if some
other
Conclusion for star topolology
Star Topology is Best for smaller Networks and
works efficiently when there is limited number of
nodes.
Extra Security Features should be added to the Hub
because it is the Heart of Networking in Star
Network.
Star Topology saves Data if there is a failure in
Network so you can Backup data's and files from
Computer.
In Short, Star Network is the best Network.
summary
Star Topology is a Physical Topology
Star Topology's Common Cable is Twisted Pair Fiber
Star Topology has a Common Protocol which is
Ethernet Star Topology is used in Homes and Offices
One of the main advantage of Star Topology is when
whole Network fails it just affects one Computer
Sending of data to the Hub relays to the Other
Connected Devices
Star Topology requires more Cable Length
and one of the main Conclusion or requirement for
oTapology was to have Security to the Hub
