 Mouse- Used for clicking, selecting and pointing
 Printer – used for printing documents
 Speaker – produces sound

 Computer
 Are electronic devices that make our work easier and
faster.
 Are programmable machines that perform with
accuracy, reliability and timely.
 Can be as big as occupying a large building and as small
as a laptop or a microcontroller in mobile and embedded
systems.
 4 Basic Types of Computers
1. Super Computer –Most powerful computers in
performance and data processing.
Uses of Super Computer
a. Space Exploration
b. Earthquake
c. Weather Forecasting
d. Nuclear
2. Mainframe Computer –are not as powerful as
supercomputers but it is also expensive and can occupy an
entire room. Large firms and government organizations run
their business operations because it can process and store
large amount of data.
2. Minicomputers –are used by small business and firms.
These computers are a bit smaller than mainframe
computers but bigger and more powerful than
microcomputers because they have bigger storage capacity.
It is also called Midrange Computers.
2. Microcomputers –are widely used and are the fastest
growing computers. These are the cheapest among the
other three types of computers. Specifically designed for
education, entertainment, malls, offices, work, purposes
and even at home. It also known as Personal Computer.
