Creativity

 One of the great misconceptions surrounding creativity has to do

with new ideas. Most forms of creativity are not about new ideas.
In reality, there are all types of creative talents that contribute to
results. Creativity exists everywhere at all levels. The key is to
understand these variations and know how to tap into them for
creating value. Therefore, creativity is more about the full range of
outcomes, not that one big idea.
Is creativity a talent?

 Creativity is an innate
talent – one that can be
turned into pure magical
genius, if given the right
environment and
encouragement. And, of
course, if fear is left
behind.
How do you develop creative talents?

 Commit Yourself to Creativity.

 Become an Expert.
 Reward Your Curiosity.
 Take Risks.
 Build Your Confidence.
 Make Time for Creativity.
 Overcome a Negative Attitude.
 Fight Fear of Failure.
What are some creative talents?

 Writing.
 Researching.
 Brainstorming.
 Inspiring.
 Self-managing.
 Networking.
 Innovating.
 Listening.
The talent of BRAINSTORMING

 Brainstorming is a group creativity technique by which efforts are made to find a

conclusion for a specific problem by gathering a list of ideas spontaneously contributed
by its members.
 In other words, brainstorming is a situation where a group of people meet to generate new
ideas and solutions around a specific domain of interest by removing inhibitions. People
are able to think more freely and they suggest as many spontaneous new ideas as possible.
All the ideas are noted down without criticism and after the brainstorming session the
ideas are evaluated. The term was popularized by Alex Faickney Osborn in the 1967
book Applied Imagination.
The talent of SELF-MANAGING

 Self management sounds like being your own boss, but it doesn’t mean setting up your own
business. In fact it means taking responsibility for your own actions and doing things as
well as you can. It shows you are able to organise yourself and offer your own ideas to any
project. It’s about being the boss of YOU, not the boss of a team or company!
 Self management is about making a choice to do more than you need to, and it is a great
skill to build for life and work.
 The three key self management skills include:
 Initiative
 Organisation
 Accountability
The talent of LISTENING

To listen is to give attention to sound or action.[1] When listening, one is hearing what others are saying,
and trying to understand what it means.[2] The act of listening involves complex affective, cognitive, and
behavioral processes.[3] Affective processes include the motivation to listen to others; cognitive processes
include attending to, understanding, receiving, and interpreting content and relational messages; and
behavioral processes include responding to others with verbal and nonverbal feedback.
Listening can be a useful skill for different problems, but it is essential to solve conflict, poor listening can
lead to misinterpretations thus causing conflict or a dispute. Other causes can be excessive interruptions,
inattention, hearing what you want to hear, mentally composing a response, and having a closed mind.[4]
Listening is also link to our memory, according to a study during a speech some background noises that
were heard by the listeners could help listeners recall information by heard it again. For example, when
we’re doing something like reading or following steps while hearing music, we can recall what that was by
hearing the music again later.
The talent of WRITING

 Good writing is clear. Talented writing is energetic. Good writing avoids errors.
Talented writing makes things happen in the reader’s mind — vividly, forcefully
— that good writing, which stops with clarity and logic, doesn’t.
 The talented writer can explode, as with a verbal microscope, some fleeting
sensation or action, tease out insights, and describe subsensations that we all
recognize, even if we have rarely considered them before; that is, he or she
describes them at greater length and tells more about them than other writers.
How to find your creative side

For those whose creative outlet isn't as obvious, here are three tips on how to discover and
own your creativity:
 Discover your creative outlet. In order to own your creativity, you first need to discover
your specific means of self-expression.
 Own your art.
 Challenge yourself to think outside the box.

ATTENTION!
