DEFINITION
Circular Motion is a movement of an object
along the circumference of a circle or rotation
 along a circular path.

CIRCULAR MOTION
UNIFORM CIRCULAR
MOTION
 Uniform Circular Motion is the motion of an
object to take a circular path with a constant
velocity
 The value of linear
speed/velocity is constant.
 Vector (direction) linear
velocity changes at any time

 Why the speed is constant?

 This is caused by the
angular velocity which is
also constant.
 The angular velocity is
constant, because the
angular velocity is the same
as the particle's rotation
direction.
 So,the value and direction
of angular velocity are
constant
 What about the angular and linear acceleration of
the GMB?
 The change in angular velocity or acceleration of
the angle is 0 because the angular velocity is
constant.
 Likewise with linear acceleration, because the
angular acceleration is 0 then the linear
acceleration is also 0.

Now, is there no acceleration in

regular circular motion?
 Of course there is, that is, acceleration that is
perpendicular to the path (centripetal acceleration)
which causes the linear velocity to change.
Frequency and Period
 In

  circular motion, frequency and period terms are often
mentioned.
 Frequency (f) is the number of turns the object takes in one
second.

 Period (T) is the time taken for the object to complete one
full turn.

Keterangan
f= frequency (Hz) 1 round=  rad (radian)
T= Period (s) 1 rpm (rotasi per menit)=
n= The numb. of round
t= time (s)

 Centripetal acceleration (as) causes centripetal
force (Fs) which also leads to the center of the
trajectory. The centripetal force must exist so that
the object continues to move in its path (circle).
NON-UNIFORM
CIRCULAR MOTION
DEFINITION
 Non-uniform circular motion is motion of an
object on a circular path with a constant angular
acceleration.
 This constant angular acceleration, makes the
angular velocity change every second, can be
faster or slower, depending on the
positive/negative sign on the angular acceleration
