Food From Plants
• Plants are a source of a wide variety of nutrients required to keep the
human body in perfect working condition.
• All food comes from plants, even animals depend on plants.
• Plants provide us food with vegetables, Roots, stem, leaves, fruits
and flowers.

• Many foods come from plant roots. • Many foods come from plant stems.
• Beetroot, radish, carrot and turnip • Asparagus, Bamboo shoot, Broccoli
are some of the roots that we eat as and etc, are some of the stems that
vegetables. we eat.

• Beetroot increase blood flow and


decrease the growth of cancer cell.
• Carrots have Vitamin A and, also high
beta carotene.
Plant leaves as a source of food

o We eat leaves of some plants like spinach, lettuce,


radish, fenugreek, etc.
o Leaves are used as cooked or green food.
o They contain a lot of vitamins and minerals.

o Spinach contains a lot of iron, so it is suitable


for people suffering from Anemia and Lettuce
contains vitamins A, B1, B, C, D and E.
o Lettuce helps with insomnia.
Fruits:
• Plants provided us food in the form of fruit.
• Plants give us healthy food such as apple, orange, and etc.
• These fruits keep our body in good health.

Flower Vegetable:
• Flower vegetables have a shape of flowers and they are head of the plant in small
size.
• Many flowers buds cluster together., for example Cauliflower, Zucchini flower, choi
gum and artichoke.
