REGULATIONS IN
DISCUS THROW
Rules about Discus
• All sides of the Discus must be identical
and free from any sharp edges or
irregularities.
• The Inner construction of the Discus is both
solid and hollow.
• The Discus vary slightly for the male and
female competitors.
• For Men’s it should be approximately 22 centimeters in
diameter and weigh 1.75 kilograms.
• For Women’s it should be 18 centimeters in diameter and
weigh 1 kilogram.
Rules about the Cage

■ The Discus Cage serves as protection from an errant Discus


from harming other competitors or spectators.
■ The cage should be in a U-shaped,with a mouth that is
approximately 6 meters wide.
■ The netting should wrap around the cage, and the cage
should have netting that is at least 4 meters above ground.
■ The netting can be consisted of Natural or synthetic fiber material or
steel wire.
■ A Discus circle with a diameter of about 2 ½ meters should be placed
near the Discus cage’s mouth. The circle is surrounded by a rim, and
competitors are not allowed to touch the rim’s outside when
attempting to throw. They may, however, touch the inside edge of the
rim.
Rules about the Throw

■ The Discus thrower must to be remained


inside the Discus circle at all times before
and after each attempted throws.
■ The competitor cannot touch the ground
beyond the circle.
■ The landing of the disc has a specific
boundary. The throw is ruled invalid if the
disc lands outside of that zone.
Fouls

■ If the Thrower leaves the Discus circle before their


Discus lands on the ground, it will be a Foul Throw.
■ The throwers need to exit from the rear back of the
circle. If the competitor exits from a different part of the
circle, it is considered a invalid throw.
■ If the disc lands outside of the designated boundaries,
the throw will be determined to be invalid.
