everyone, boys, girls, the person with disabilities,
obese, young and old alike. Strong and moderate
evidence suggests that regular physical activity
improves health.
The benefits of regular physical activity:

◦ Helps in the prevention of weight gain
◦ Helps with weight loss when combined with a diet
◦ Increase cardio-respiratory and muscular fitness
◦ Prevents falls
◦ Reduces depression
◦ Helps reduce abdominal obesity
◦ Improves cognitive function for older adults
◦ Improves functional health for older adults

twelve (12) lifestyle habits will significantly
improve health and extend life:
1. Participate in a lifetime physical activity program
2. Do not smoke cigarettes
3. Eat right
4. Avoid snacking
5. Maintain recommended body weight through
adequate nutrition and exercise
6. Sleep 6 to 8 hours every night
7. Lower your stress levels
8. Be wary of alcohol
9. Surround yourself with healthy friendships
10. Be informed about the environment.

Physical fitness activities are one of the factors that contribute to the holistic development
of a person. It varies in different levels, needs, age and capability of an individual to perform
a specific task.
A beautiful performance in Filipino Festivals dances is always attributed to the level of
preparation and the quality of execution a performer has undertaken during the
presentation. The energy, power, flexibility and endurance are vital elements that a dancer is
expected to demonstrate in order to achieve the desired result. A person can both develop
his or her physical, social and mental attributes leading his or her way to a holistic
development.
Actively participating in this activity helps develop our personal fitness, promote our culture
and strengthens our spirit of nationalism.
