COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course deals with the topics that are based on the Department of
Education’s K to 12 curriculum guide for Health Optimizing P.E. for senior high
school. Topics are more fitness and wellness related that are more advance of its
requisite level (Grade 11) focused in developing one’s health with the use of
dances. This is designed to equip students of senior high school with knowledge,
skills and the right attitude in order to graduate as persons who live not only a life
of fitness through sports, dances, and recreations, but also according to known
healthy practices. Also from learning the dances they would understand the
aesthetic sides of fitness through different genres of dance: Traditional Dances,
Modern Contemporary Dances, Ballroom Dances, Cheer dances, Hip-hop dances,
and Festival Dances to incorporate the dances in having great social concern and
in applying it in everyday life.

UPHSD subscribes to the principle that “Character Building is
Nation Building.” Hence, it is important for students to observe
proper decorum in a virtual learning environment. Teachers and
students are expected to interact amiably and respectfully towards
each other.
Policies and procedures stipulated in the Student Handbook are also
enforced in online classes. Hence, violations of any of the behavioral
expectations outlined below may result in the removal of a student
from an online class for a specific period of time depending on the
severity of the offense which means the student is missing
important academic work.

• Refrain from eating and/or scrolling on your


phone while the class is ongoing. Stay Focused.
• Listen and participate actively during class
discussions.
• Be kind. Be respectful. Be responsible.

ABSENCES AND TARDINESS
• Students who will join the online class five
minutes after the roll call/agreed time is
considered late and ten minutes late is
considered absent.
• Students with three consecutive unexcused
absences/five consecutive no. of tardiness
will receive a letter to parent for conference
(LTP).
OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS
• Schedule of quizzes must be strictly followed. Reopening of quizzes will only
be allowed if there is a valid reason. Also, an excuse letter (handwritten or
softcopy) signed by the parent/guardian must be provided.

attached.
2. For health-related concerns: Medical
certificate must be provided (3 or more
absences).
3. Emergency: Notify the Subject Teacher/
Class Mayor right away. You may send your
excuse letter next meeting. Ask your adviser for the excuse letter
format.
OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS
• All academic concerns must be communicated through MS
TEAMS only.
• Refrain from sending messages late at night and/or during
the weekend. Instead, you may ask questions/
clarifications right after the class or during consultation
hours.
