DJKML’S

PROPOSAL
C12B
Rationale
◦ We would like to establish our workplace in a stable and safe place. Because it is very important
for each and every employee in the industry to work in a safe and protected atmosphere. Health
and safety is the key factor for all the industries in order to promote the wellness of both
employees and employers.
Project Goals and Objectives
◦ We would like to minimize the costs for the network to increase profitability and maximize
performance of the network, enabling focus on our internal IT resources so we can focus on
business growth initiatives.
Target Clients / End Users
◦ We will be targeting the customers that has interest in networks. The possible clients we will have
is companies like CISCO, and many more.
Computer System
◦ Hardware Requirements - Every person working in a given physical area needs to have access to the corporate information
system which means, at a minimum, they should all have access to the internal network.
The options are to provide:
◦ • Local area cable network between 8 or less employees using a central hub or switch and sharing drives and data mutually
◦ • For larger groups a wireless access point with one port (cable outlet) connected to the intranet, file or database server, other
ports connected to other wired network hardware like servers or printers and a wireless network adapter for each machine on
the network
◦ • If wireless communication is not appropriate then a network of switches (5, 8 or 16 port) and/or hubs to connect each of the
computers in the area by cable to the intranet, file or database server and a network adapter card for each machine on the
network.
◦ • A router to connect to the broadband Internet on one side and one or more of the local area ports to connect to the internal
LAN described above on the other
◦ 1. Wireless broadband router
◦ 2. Cable modem/router
◦ 3. ADSL modem/router
Computer System
◦ Software Requirements - Things that we need for a simple network includes a network adapter card or
PC card, a network router or switch, and cabling. If each of our PCs will be running any version of
Windows 98 or later, we should have all the operating system software we need for a home network.
Network Components
◦ Internet Service Provider - We would like to use Globe as our ISP for our workplace to enjoy
it's fast and reliable internet that fits your digital needs. The Globe Telecom is the top 2 best
internet in the Philippines and it has enough details to prove that the Internet that they give in
their clients is good and very affordable.
Network Components
◦Network Devices - Our workplace will need Routers, hubs, switches and bridges. These are all the pieces of networking
equipment that will perform different tasks.

◦Routers: A router can form a LAN by connecting devices within a building. It also makes it possible to connect different
networks together. Homes and businesses use a router to connect to the internet. A router can often incorporate a modem
within the hardware.

◦Modem: It enables a computer to connect to the internet over a telephone line. A modem converts digital signals from a
computer to analogue signals that are then sent down the telephone line.

◦Hub: broadcasts data to all devices on a network. This can use a lot of bandwidth as it results in unnecessary data being sent
- not all computers might need to receive the data.

◦Bridge: is used to connect two separate LAN networks. A computer can act as a bridge through the operating system.

◦Switch: It performs a similar role to a hub and a bridge but is more powerful. It stores the MAC addresses of devices on a
network and filters data packets to see which devices have asked for them.
Network Components

◦Topologies - We will be using the Star Topology for our network

because it allows each machine on the network to have a point to point
connection to the central hub and there is no single point of failure.

◦Bandwidth Requirement - We are just 3 - 5 people so as of now we

need a download speed of at least 25 Mbps and an upload speed of at
least 3 Mbps

Project Implementation Plan
◦The DKJM’L group has a plan to make sure our workers are okay. We decided to build a program that helped our
workers. It is called “Tawagan moko pag wala kana” This program is for people who want advice or motivation.
Because some people feel down and stressed about working everyday, every Thursday, we have a rest day for the
employees and they can have fun playing board games, for this project we partnered Toy Kingdom for the stuffs we
need.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance Procedures

◦In order to isolate a computer failure, we must be able to analyze the symptoms of the malfunction and localize the
trouble to a specific functional unit. Analyzing the malfunction requires that we understand the failure and know what
else in the system works and does not work.

◦For basic troubleshooting we analyze the symptoms of the failure. (Is it reliable? Is it due to bad disk? Is the
computer too hot? Is it an operator error? Is everything powered on? Are all cables connected? What else work and
does not work?”
Conclusion
◦The goal of this project is to make an impact of positive employee morale. Because firstly, it leads to an increase in
productivity and efficiency in the workplace. When employees genuinely enjoy the work atmosphere, they are pushed
to work more efficiently and productively. Whenever employees have high morale, they will enjoy going to work and
on top of it all, their quality of work is much higher. Second, when employees have positive employee morale, they
give the company a competitive edge.
