TIPE-TIPE SOAL LISTENING (40 MINUTES)
• Don’t choose an option just because you hear a word from it. Think about the whole
meaning of what is said
• Sometimes in a multiple-choice question you have to complete a half sentence with one of
the options. Ganti kalimatnya jadi pertanyaan.
• You will hear some reference to all the options in the list, but some of them will not be an
appropriate answer
• You may find it useful to cross out each option that you hear being eliminated
TIPS FOR MATCHING
• Make sure that you read all the option before recording starts
• Sometime the words are different but the meaning just the same
• Sometime C option is A plus B option, listen the whole information
• Use the key words in the question to find the right part
• Remember that the statement will not be the exactly the same in the text
• Remember that No/False means that the statement contradict (impossible to be right)
• One heading may match to some paragraph, try to find the core idea of each
• Use the information on the table or question to predict
WRITING TEST
• TEST 1 : You have to describe some information contained in a graph/table/chart/diagram and present
the description in your own words. The information may be data, the stage of process, how something
works, or description of an object (150 WORDS)
• TEST 2: You have to write short essay in response to a topic which is presented as a point of view, an
argument or a problem. (250 WORD)
TIPS FOR WRITING TEST 1
• Whether you have to describe graph, table, or chart, think carefully what you need to include in your
description. Don’t describe every detail of the information. Choose the most interesting and important
features to write about.
• Support your description with figures, but you don’t need to give every number exactly. You can use
‘over, around, about.
• If it process, you have to identify all the stages of the process clearly before wirting it
• Use the words in your description that show sequence of the process
TIPS FOR WRITING TASK 2
• Analyse the question. Think carefully about what you are being asked to do
• Decide on your position and plan your writing by making notes and organising the paragraphs. Make
sure that each paragraph has a clear focus
• Include example to support your opinion
• Leave enough time to edit and check your writing
SPEAKING TEST
• PART 1 : You answer general question about yourself, your home/family, your job/studies, your interest,
and a range of familiar topic areas
• PART 2: The examiner gives you a card which asks you to talk about a particular topic which include
points that you can cover in your talk. You are given one minute to prepare. You will talk 2 minutes, then
examiner will ask one or two question
• PART 3: The examiner asks you further questions which are connected to the topic of part 2. These
questions give you an opportunity to discuss more ideas
TIPS FOR SPEAKING TEST
