Extract on Avoiding Mosquitos
INTRODUCTION
Origanum Vulgare known as Oregano
and Pandan Leaves with a scientific name which is
Pandanus Amaryllifolius. These two can help
repel mosquitos so we made a candle out of Oregano
and Pandan Leaves to repel mosquitos.
Oregano is considered an antiseptic and mosquito
repellent. Pandan is an excellent source of vitamins
which help us to boost our immune system.
Pandan have a strong sweet fragrance and are often
used to scent. Many people in the native region use
the pandan leaves to repel insect pests.
We observed that our candle needed a fragrant smell
so we decided to add a lemon.
Lemon contains Vitamin C and also lemon has a
pleasing and therapeutic scent.
OBJECTIVES
The expected success of our project is to repel or
prevent mosquitos and to avoid bites of mosquitos. In
our project we prevent the increase of dengue and we
also save the lives of many people in our environment.
SIGNIFICANCE OF
THE STUDY
Every rainy season,mosquitos are everywhere.
They keep bugging people. This study can help
in resolving problems regarding mosquitos.
The information in this study may give another way
on how to make mosquitos stay away from people.
The people who will benefit from this study are
those who have problems with the mosquito.
METHOLOGY
A. Collection and Preparation of the Materials that
will be use :

- The Oregano & Pandan Leaves

- Wax
- Jar
- Popsicle Stick
- Lemon
B. Procedure for Insect Repellent

Prepare 10 pcs of Pandan Leaves and 20 pcs of

Oregano Leaves next,We blended oregano leaves
and pandan leaves using Blender. Set it aside. Next,
we melted the wax.
We poured the blended oregano and pandan leaves
into the melted wax. Stir it, Transfer it to the candle
glass and let it stay for 20 minutes and prick the
popsicle stick to the candle. Let it stay until the wax
hardens. Then it’s ready to use.
