Cave Paintings

 Known as “parietal art” are painted drawings on cave walls and


ceilings found in both Asia and Europe.
 It’s purposes still is not recognized
 Some paintings are exceptionally identical around the world, with
animals being common subjects that gives the most dramatic images.
 Humans mainly appear as images of hands which is called stencils
made by blowing pigment on a hand held to the wall

 It was fundamental in temple rituals. For example in egypt with the


priest and the priestess, they’re guided by harps and pipes perform
ceremonial movements
 It has been introduced that before the fabrication of written languages.
Body Art

 Body Painting was temporary unlike tattoos. It lasted only one day or at
most in the case of Henna Tattooing lasted couple of weeks.
 Body Painting with clay and other innate pigments existed in most all
tribal cultures. It often worn during ceremonies
 Tattoos, Piercing, Nose-Ears-Mouth plugs, Mendi, Henna and
scarification are other ritual-based form. And it holds great meaning in
these cultures.
 It is a momentous part of social, spiritual and personal expression.
