Flip Chart
 Flip charts are a useful teaching aid. You can purchase prepared or blank
flip charts, or you can make them. A flip chart is a stationery item
consisting of a pad of large paper sheets. It is typically fixed to the upper
edge of a whiteboard, typically supported on a tripod or four-legged easel.

 Flip chart provide a useful way of interacting with your audience: Not only
can you present your own ideas and results on flip charts, but you can also
use them to immediately record input, feedback and ideas from your
audience. For example, a teacher may use them during lessons to creatively
show a lesson plan or the day’s objective.

Wall Display
 Wall display is a collection of many different types of items and materials put on
the wall to make an interesting and informative display.

 Evolving wall displays help students keep track of what they have learned and help
them make connections and develop coherency between ideas, tasks and lessons.
Wall displays expand the time students devote to thinking about the science ideas
and practices they are learning because they view and talk about what is displayed
with peers and their families. Bringing family members into the class and talking
to them about wall displays helps to connect learning between school and family.

 A chalkboard includes a large writing area, a writing substance and
an eraser. There are some ways to use chalkboard as a teaching aid:
Chalkboard is the most available instructional material which can
be used in presenting new lesson.

 Chalkboard is an important teaching aid because it: Is a mirror


through which students visualize the teacher’s mind. E.g., the way
of explaining, illustrating and teaching, Thus, it stands as a visual
testimony of the teacher’s work and expression.

Diorama
 A diorama is a 3-dimensional scene created to illustrate an academic
subject, a plot of a story, or an event in history.

 Dioramas can be used throughout all levels of education. They


pinpoint a moment of learning and show deeper levels of
understanding. Dioramas can also be used in real world setting as
problem solvers. Overall, dioramas are a fun, creative way to create
a 3-dimensional project.

Nature Table
 A nature table is a space that features a collection of nature items and
exploration tools. These can include any items you might find on a
nature walk, or at the beach, or anywhere really. The exploration tools
can include things like a magnifying glass, tweezers, sketching supplies,
and more.

 Nature tables encourage kids to observe and explore, which fosters not
only a deeper connection with nature, but crucial science and reasoning
skills that will be used throughout their lives.

Zig Zag Board
 It is a multi- board series of three or four rectangular boards. They are joined together
along the sides by hinges so that they can be easily folded up and carried.

 Zigzag board can present more than one subject in one activity without removing or
erasing the first activity. It is very useful for brainstorming, block diagram, timelines and
multiple topics to discuss in one period of time.
Rope and pole display board
 This board consist of two parallel, horizontal poles tied loosely together with rope.
Visual aids such as posters can be pinned to the rope. This kind of display board is
invaluable where there are few solid walls for displaying information. It has no solid
backing and can be made quickly for teaching, training and when working with
community.

 ROPE and POLE display board is a great way to get your students engaged and a great
learning implementation for children who are visual learners as it helps them to visualize
exactly what is being told to them.
Big book
 A big book is a large version of a book, often used by EYFS practitioners, to share a
story with the whole class.

 A teacher must choose a big book that the students will want to read and reread. The
book should contain repeated phrases and sentences, rhyming words, and pictures that
support the text. Such a book will strengthen the oral language skills of the students in a
non-threatening way.
Puppet
 A puppet is an object, often resembling a human, animal or mythical figure,
that is animated or manipulated by a person called a puppeteer. The
puppeteer uses movements of their hands, arms, or control devices such as
rods or strings to move the body, head, limbs, and in some cases the mouth
and eyes of the puppet.

 Puppets are a good way to deliver information to students and help them
retain it. Student use of puppets helps them to retell information they’ve
learned and remember it. Teachers can use puppets to demonstrate proper
pronunciation to help students develop language skills.

 A handout is any type of document that a speaker hands out to participants
during a lecture, presentation, conference or meeting.

 Handouts can be an effective teaching tool whether they are professionally


produced masterpieces or simple, hand-lettered sheets. They are most
effective when they are organized according to the planned learning
outcomes for your class. The student can then see clearly where the
information fits in the overall picture.
