“How to encourage

one another”
Read Acts 4:36

There was a Levite, a native of


 
Cyprus, Joseph, to whom the
apostles gave the name Barnabas
(which means “son of
encouragement”). Acts 4:36

encouragement.

2. How can we encourage one


another like Barnabas?
BY EXAMPLE

  1. Barnabas sold land … gave. Acts 4:37.

sold a field he owned and brought the money and put
it at the apostles’ feet.

 2. By living active faith. Romans 1:12.

that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by
each other’s faith. 

 3. Being careful not to abuse freedom. 1 Corinthians 8:9.



Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights
does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
WITH WORDS
 1. “Continue in the faith.” Acts 14:22.
Strengthening the disciples and
encouraging them to remain true to the
faith. “We must go through many hardships to
enter the kingdom of God,” they said. 

 2. By letter and speech. Acts 15:31, 32


The people read it and were glad for its
encouraging message. 
 3. Preaching is for encouragement. 1
Corinthians 14:3, 31
For you can all prophesy in turn so that
everyone may be instructed and encouraged.

Therefore encourage one another with
these words.
WITH PRESENCE

 1. Tychicus with news. Ephesians 6:21-22


 
Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful
servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so
that you also may know how I am and what I
am doing. 22 I am sending him to you for this
very purpose, that you may know how we
are, and that he may encourage you.
2. With Paul’s presence. Colossians 2:2
My goal is that they may be encouraged in
heart and united in love, so that they may have the
full riches of complete understanding, in order
that they may know the mystery of God, namely,
Christ, 

3. With your presence. Hebrews 10:25.


Not giving up meeting together, as some are in
the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—
and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
How can we encourage one another in the faith?

1. With a good example.


2. With words that encourage.
3. With our presence in worship
and other activities of the
church.
