ABOUT THE DISEASE

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that

mainly affects the lungs. When a victim
inhales TB Bacilli, the bacteria travels to
and infects the alveoli in the lungs, which is
where the oxygen that is inhaled from
breathing is kept. The bacteria is engulfed
by immune cells and then multiplies inside
them. Tuberculosis prevents oxygen from
reaching the blood to the rest of the body,
and if left untreated, can kill the victim. TB
can be passed on from one person to
another by moisture in the air. (coughing or
sneezing)

TUBERCULOSIS:
Tuberculosis is an infectious
disease and is caused by the

tuberculosis. This pathogen
floats around in the air, waiting
for a host to infect. It can be
transferred from person to
person if someone infected with
TB coughs or sneezes and
another person inhales it.
SYMPTOMS

HISTORY

All the three forms of tuberculosis

(active, miliary and latent) are
thought to have been around for
15,000+. Remains and mummies
from the past show signs of
