WHAT IS HOSPITAL ?
 Definition
according to WHO Hospital is defined as
an integral part of medical and social
organization which is to provide for the
population complete health care, both curative
and preventive; and whose out patient services
reach out into the family in its environment.
The hospital is also a centre for training of
health workers and for bio-social research.
 Hospitals are health care institutions:-

-have organised medical and qualified staff.


-delivering medical, nursing, radiology
laboratory and other services.
-offer acute , convalescent and terminal care
-using diagnostic , preventive and curative
service.
-able to generate essential information for
research, , expertise , education and
management.
DEVELOPMENT:
ECONOMIC& SOCIAL
 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
The goods and services
purchased by hospitals from other businesses
create additional economic value for the
community.
 SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT:
It is about improving
the well being of every individual in a society.
It include literacy, health and provisions of
public services.
HOSPITAL SERVICES
 ESSENTIAL:
OPD services, IPD services, Emergency and Casuality services,
Operation services etc.

 SUPPORTIVE:
Radiological, laboratory, laundry, blood bank, Mortury ,
pharmacy etc.

 ADMINISTRATION:
Personnel management, finance management, house keeping etc.

 UTILITY:
Dietary, public relation, communication, medical store etc.
CONCLUSION

Hospitals plays a vital role in the health care


system and it also leads to socio-economic
development of a society. Hospitals are
important to treat minor and serious diseases,
illness, and disorders. It also help to promote
health, give information on prevention of
illness and as well as curative services.
