Her works
• Known for human rights advocacy, especially the
education of women and children .
• Founded the Malala Fund.
• Opened a school in Lebanon.
• Travelled to many countries to meet girls fighting
poverty, wars, child marriage and gender
discrimination to go to school.

Accomplishments
• Won the Shakarov Price in 2013.
• The UN adopted 12th July as “Malala
Day”.
• Won the Nobel Peace Price on October
2014.
• Appointed as a U.N. Messenger of Peace
to promote girl’s education.
• Awarded honorary Canadian citizenship
in April 2017 becoming only the sixth
person and the youngest in the country’s
history to receive the honor.

Contributions
• Donated funds through her non-profit organization ‘Malala
Fund’.
• Pledged to raise $500 million to provide schooling for
300,000 Syrian refugees.
• Yousafzai helped hundreds of Syrian refugees cross from
their war-torn country into Jordan.
• Opened a school in the Lebanon, near the Syrian border.
• Called on world leaders to invest in "books, not bullets".
