What does transistor mean in your language?
2.2 The main idea of paragraph

1. What is a transistor?
2. Who invented the MOS transistor? When was it invented?
3. What are most transistors made from? The differences between transistors
and vacuum tubes.
4. The meaning of transistor in the modern electronics.
5. Transistor is the most widely manufactured device
6. Advantages of transistors
7. What is the essential usefulness of a transistor come from?
8. Types of transistor
2.3 Summarize the main content

A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify or switch electronic

signals and electrical power. It is composed of semiconductor material
usually with at least three terminals for connection to an external circuit.
The MOStransistor was invented by Egyptian engineer Mohamed Atalla
with Korean engineer Dawon Kahng at Bell Labs in 1959.
Most transistors are made from very pure silicon, and some from
germanium. But certain other semiconductor materials can also be used.
Certain vacuum tubes have advantages over transistors at very high
operating frequencies or high operating voltages.
2.3 Summarize the main content

Transistors are the key active components in practically all modern electronics.
The MOSFET has been considered to be the most important transistor, possibly
the most important invention in electronics, and the birth of modern electronics.
Transistor is the most widely manufactured device.
The trasistor's low cost ,flexibility ,and reliability have made it a ubiquitous
device.
The essential usefulness of a transistor comes from its ability to use a small
signal applied between one pair of its terminals to control a much larger signal
at another pair of terminals.
2.3 Summarize the main content

There are two types of transistors: a bipolar transistor and a field-

effect transistor.
