RULES
Open to all HIS
students
Merriam-Webster
Dictionary is the sole
reference material
There will be an
elimination round
followed by three
main rounds:
Easy, Average,
Difficult
During the elimination
round, contestants will
have to spell using
whiteboards or flash
cards.
During the main
rounds, contestants
will have to spell out
the words orally.
A contestant will be
eliminated if they
spelled the word
wrong.
Each contestants has
only one chance to
spell the word
correctly.
Each contestant may
choose 2 help from
the following guides:
a. definition
b. part of speech
c. etymology (if
available)
d. sample sentence
e. synonym
The Spelling Master
will read the words
twice. Wait for the
word “SPELL” to
start.
Words are randomly
selected for each
contestants.
A contestant can join
the next round if they
spelled the word
correctly.
Every round will
repeat the cycle of
contestants and
follows same
elimination procedure.
During the difficult
round, the cycle keeps
going until one
contestant survives.
If all contestants
misspelled their
words, the round will
reset.
If blindfolds were
removed without
permission, contestant
will be disqualified.
Each contestants have
5 seconds to spell out
the word in
Elimination round
Each contestants have 15
seconds to answer for Easy,
Average, Difficult. Countdown
will start after the quiz master
go. Time will reset if the
contestant will ask for help.
The result is final and
irrevocable.
