For Housekeeping Department, there are three important


guest requirements that we MUST always deliver to ensure
guest satisfaction or delight. These are:
 HOUSEKEEPING AREAS ARE TOTALLY CLEAN
 ALL THE AMENTITIES IN THE PLACE ARE COMPLETE
 ALL FACILITIES, APPLIANCES AND FURNISHINGS ARE IN
GOOD WORKING CONDITION

TYPES OF DIRT
 Dirt is what we remove or clean in every area.
 Dust is the basic source of dirt. It is in the form of
particles.
 Soil is when dust is mixed with water and oil.
 When patches of soil dry up in any surface, it
becomes a stain.
 Tarnish or discoloration is caused by stains that
were not removed for some time and are
recognized as damaged surface

Types of Cleaning: General Cleaning
It is done for vacant rooms wherein deep cleaning is needed to
restore and maintain its original beauty.
 Stripping of all washable room linen, curtain cushion covers, and
carpet in the room
 Cleaning of ceiling (Vacuuming)
 Door, walls and window leaning (dusting, washing, vacuuming)
 Cleaning of furniture, fixtures, and appliances (vacuuming,
shampooing, dusting, brushing, polishing)
 Floor cleaning (scrubbing, scraping, vacuuming, mopping)
 Setting-up the Room according to standard
Types of Cleaning: Regular Cleaning

 Draw the curtain open.
 Adjust the temperature of the air conditioning unit
 Remove service trays
 Stripping of trash and soiled linen
 Bedroom cleaning (bedmaking, dusting, vacuuming)
 Bathroom Cleaning (disinfecting, washing, scrubbing, rinsing, drying)
 Kitchen Cleaning
 Living Area Cleaning (dusting, vacuuming)
 Dining Area Cleaning (wash and dry drinking glasses, clean thermo jug)

Types of Cleaning: Night Turn Down
Service
 An activity of an evening room attendant done
from 6:00 pm- 9pm
 Turn down the bed
 Light a lamp near the bed
 Close window curtain
 Tidy up the bedroom and bathroom
 Replenish the amenities in the bath room
 Clear the tables in the living and dining areas
 Clear the dishes in the kitchen sink
