 FactoryTalk Activation Grace Period

• RSLogix 5000 v16.03 and greater adds support for FactoryTalk Activation (FTA) Grace Period
– Allows customers to run software at full functionality for 7 days w/o an activation
– Addresses cases where customers cannot immediately get an FTA or have lost it
• Additional RS products will support FTA Grace Period with CPR 9
• A valid serial # must be entered during install to enable the correct
Edition functionality while in Grace Period
– An invalid serial number will set the RSLogix 5000 functionality,
while in Grace Period, equal to that of RSLogix 5000 Service Edition
– The software will run as long as a valid activation is detected
regardless of the correctness of the serial number
• There are legal reasons that force us to enable just the functionality that was purchased
– Serial number is the only way for us to determine and enable the correct functionality
• Gold Master and SI toolkit serial # are considered valid RSLogix 5000 serial numbers
