Batch vs. On-Line Transaction
Processing
 Two types of TPS:
 Batch processing
• A system whereby business transactions are
accumulated over a period of time and prepared
for processing as a single unit or batch
 On-line transaction processing (OLTP)
• A system whereby each transaction is processed
immediately, without the delay of accumulating
transactions into a batch

The Major Characteristics of TPS

 TPS handles data which shows the results of various


activities on historical basis ie, activities which have
already happened.
 It is relevant to all the four functional areas ie, production,
marketing, finance and human resources because each area
has some kind of transaction.
 TPS helps to assess the organizational performance.
 Large amounts of data are processed.
 The sources of data are mostly internal, and the output is
intended mainly for an internal audience.
The Major Characteristics of TPS
 It provides high processing speed to handle the high
volume of data.
 Input and output data are structured (i.e., standardized).
 A high level of accuracy, data integrity, and security is
needed which is provided by TPS.
 The TPS processes information on a regular basis: daily,
weekly, monthly, etc.

Mr. Sheraz Responsibility
 Being the Systems Consultant in TPS, he is the project manager for Phoenix
product and the associated banking solution.

 He also looks H.R decision. He can also hire or fire people which are working
under him.

 He assigned tasks to people which are under him.

 He also trains their people first, and then assigned tasks to them.

 For each development project, he works with key stakeholders to define project
scope, including deliverables, goals & objectives and resource requirements.
 Takes ownership of detailed project schedules within scope.

 Optimizes task assignments to developers based on employee strengths


and interests.

 Works with other Team and Technical Leads to advance the use of new
technologies, development tools and methodologies.

 Assists with the assessment of individual and team performance.

 Gets involve in assisting the Management with the assessment of


individual and team performance.
 He also recruits people from his own department.

 He takes interview from new intern.


 Leads Phoenix team to develop detailed designs for chosen solutions.

 He is a leader of their own department, so he motivates people which


work under him.

 Participates in hands-on development as part of the team effort (up to


40% time).

 What is your opinion as H.R manager about specialization in H.R?

Ans: My opinion for an HR manager that he should put very good effort
to enhance morale and productivity, placement; compensation, and
benefits; training and development of labor relations and make sure all the
work should be done efficiently and effectively.

 What is your H.R level in your organization (General Manager, Manager,


Director) level known & who is the highest at H.R. position in your
designation?
Ans: Well every organization has different criteria in my organization
every manager of their own department have the power of H.R decisions.
My duty is to manage the software with the help of my team.
 What type of incentives you provide to your employees, for boosting
them?

Ans: Every Company has their own pattern of treating their


employees, but we provide different type of incentives like Ac rooms,
rewards, cars, health insurance, fuel card, monthly mobile bill etc.

 How you hire a person, what qualities you want from them?

Ans: As well as there are many points which I want to focus. For e.g.:
I want to look their confident and skill, then in these basis I hire any
person.
 How do you train you employees?

Ans: The best way to train them is that I appreciate my under


colleagues on their good work. As well as first I will show them how
to work, and then gradually he seeks or catches our techniques by
watching us.
 Any Advice you like to give us, on Organizational Behavior?

Ans: This is very important subject need so much consideration its


help you a lot when you get into professional life.
 Do you face any conflict among the employees?

Ans: Yes sometimes conflicts occur among employees in our


organization. As you know every person has different mind set,
personality characteristics, and their nature sometimes does not match
and due to this conflict occur in these situations.
