1. Climate change is the
current rapid warming of the
earth's climate caused by
human activities. It refers to
long-term climate changes
that occur over decades,
centuries, or longer. It is
caused by the rapid increase
in greenhouse gases in the
Earth's atmosphere, mainly
due to the burning of fossil
fuels (e.g. coal, oil, and natural
gas).
2. Climate change includes
not only rising temperatures,
but also extreme weather
events, rising sea levels,
changing wildlife
populations and habitats,
and a host of other impacts.
Climate change is a change
in the usual weather
patterns in a region.
HOWEVER, THIS CURRENT PERIOD OF
WARMING IS OCCURRING MORE RAPIDLY
THAN ANY PAST EVENTS. IT HAS BECOME
CLEAR THAT HUMANITY HAS CAUSED MOST
OF THE LAST CENTURY’S WARMING BY
RELEASING HEAT-TRAPPING GASES—
COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GREENHOUSE
GASES—TO POWER OUR MODERN LIVES. WE
ARE DOING THIS THROUGH BURNING FOSSIL
FUELS, AGRICULTURE AND LAND-USE AND
OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT DRIVE CLIMATE
CHANGE.
GREENHOUSE GASES ARE AT THE
HIGHEST LEVELS THEY HAVE EVER
BEEN OVER THE LAST 800,000
YEARS. THIS RAPID RISE IS A
PROBLEM BECAUSE IT’S CHANGING
OUR CLIMATE AT A RATE THAT IS
TOO FAST FOR LIVING THINGS TO
ADAPT TO.
As of today, the planet’s climate
has constantly been changing
over geological time, with
significant fluctuations of global
average temperatures.
 WHY IS THE CLIMATE CHANGING?

THE MAIN REASON WHY CLIMATE IS CHANGING

ARE THESE CHANGES TO EARTH’S CLIMATE ARE
NOT NATURAL SHIFTS. SCIENTISTS ARE
CONFIDENT THAT HUMAN ACTIVITIES ARE
LEADING TO CLIMATE CHANGE. HUMAN
ACTIVITIES RELEASE GASES THAT CHANGE THE
MAKEUP OF EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE. THESE GASES
ARE MAKING OUR ATMOSPHERE BETTER AT
TRAPPING THE SUN'S HEAT. WE CALL THIS THE
GREENHOUSE EFFECT. THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT
IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF RISING TEMPERATURES.
CAUSES OF
CLIMATE
CHANGE
THE MAIN CAUSES
OF CLIMATE
CHANGE ARE:
• Humanity’s increased
use of fossil fuels
- such as coal, oil and gas to
generate electricity, run cars
and other forms of transport,
and power manufacturing and
industry
• Deforestation
- Deforestation causes
extinction, changes to
climatic conditions,
desertification, and
displacement of
populations, as observed by
current conditions and in the
past through the fossil
record
• Increasingly intensive
agriculture

- Large scale changes such as

deforestation, soil erosion or
machine-intensive farming
methods may all contribute to
increased carbon concentrations
in the atmosphere.
 Does climate change have
natural causes?
- THE EARTH'S CLIMATE CAN BE
AFFECTED BY NATURAL FACTORS THAT
ARE EXTERNAL TO THE CLIMATE SYSTEM,
SUCH AS CHANGES IN VOLCANIC
ACTIVITY, SOLAR OUTPUT, AND THE
EARTH'S ORBIT AROUND THE SUN.
IN TERMS OF THE EARTH'S ENERGY
BALANCE, THESE FACTORS PRIMARILY
INFLUENCE THE AMOUNT OF INCOMING
ENERGY. VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS ARE
EPISODIC AND HAVE RELATIVELY SHORT-
TERM EFFECTS ON CLIMATE.
ACCORDING TO SCIENTISTS
- Scientists know that recent climate change
is largely caused by human activities from
an understanding of basic physics,
comparing observations with models, and
fingerprinting the detailed patterns of
climate change caused by different human
and natural influences.
CLIMATE CHANGE
IMPACTS/ EFFECTS
IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE
In the Philippines are immense, including:
annual losses in GDP, changes in rainfall
patterns and distribution, droughts, threats to
biodiversity and food security, sea level rise,
public health risks, and endangerment of
vulnerable groups such as women and
indigenous people.
THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON
DIFFERENT SECTORS OF SOCIETY ARE
INTERRELATED. DROUGHT CAN HARM FOOD
PRODUCTION AND HUMAN HEALTH. FLOODING
CAN LEAD TO DISEASE SPREAD AND DAMAGES
TO ECOSYSTEMS AND INFRASTRUCTURE.
HUMAN HEALTH ISSUES CAN INCREASE
MORTALITY, IMPACT FOOD AVAILABILITY, AND
LIMIT WORKER PRODUCTIVITY. CLIMATE
CHANGE IMPACTS ARE SEEN THROUGHOUT
EVERY ASPECT OF THE WORLD WE LIVE IN.
MORE FREQUENT AND INTENSE DROUGHT,
STORMS, HEAT WAVES, RISING SEA LEVELS,
MELTING GLACIERS AND WARMING OCEANS
CAN DIRECTLY HARM ANIMALS, DESTROY
THE PLACES THEY LIVE, AND WREAK HAVOC
ON PEOPLE'S LIVELIHOODS AND
COMMUNITIES. AS CLIMATE CHANGE
WORSENS, DANGEROUS WEATHER EVENTS
ARE BECOMING MORE FREQUENT OR
SEVERE.
EFFECTS OF
CLIMATE
CHANGE
These include warming temperatures and changes in
precipitation, as well as the effects of Earth’s warming,
such as:
• RISING SEA LEVELS
What causes sea level’s to rise?
- Global warming is causing global mean
sea level to rise in two ways. First, glaciers
and ice sheets worldwide are melting and
adding water to the ocean. Second, the
volume of the ocean is expanding as the
water warms.
• SHRINKING
MOUNTAIN GLACIER
What causes shrinking mountain
glacier melt?
- The atmospheric concentration of
carbon dioxide and other greenhouse
gases (GHGs) produced by industry,
transport, deforestation and burning
fossil fuels, amongst other human
activities, warm the planet and cause
glaciers to melt.
• CHANGES ON FLOWER AND PLANT
BLOOMING TIMES.

What causes changes on flower and plants in

blooming times?
- Plants blossom at different times because
several factors, including the weather, temperature
and the amount of sunlight the plant receives, all of
which influence its reproductive development.
• Extreme/Severe
weather events
What causes extreme/severe weather events?
- Severe weather occurs from the same
conditions that generate ordinary
thunderstorms: atmospheric moisture, lift
(often from thermals), and instability. A wide
variety of conditions cause severe weather.
Several factors can convert thunderstorms
into severe weather.
Conclusions
The topic explains that there are well-understood
physical mechanisms by which changes in the
amounts of greenhouse gases cause climate changes.
It discusses the evidence that the concentrations of
these gases in the atmosphere have increased and are
still increasing rapidly, that climate change is
occurring, and that most of the recent change is
almost certainly due to emissions of greenhouse
gases caused by human activities.
Climate affects nearly every aspect of our lives
from water supply, food supply, human health,
environment and infrastructures. In this report it
concluded that most of the warming observed over
the past years is attributable to human activities. We
know that our climate is changing due to humans,
and these changes are already having a big impact on
our lives. It’s important that we understand how the
climate is changing, so that we can prepare for the
future.
Studying the climate helps us predict how
much rain the next winter might bring, or
how far sea levels will rise due to warmer
sea temperatures. We can also see which
regions are most likely to be affected by
extreme weather, or which wildlife species
are threatened by climate change. Climate
change will most certainly impact the future
generations.
Recommendations
1. BE A RESPONSIBLE HUMAN
It always starts with ourselves. Don't be too lazy that you become very
dependent with the technology.
2. POWER YOUR HOME WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY
Choose a utility company that generates at least half its power from
wind or solar and has been certified by Green-e Energy, an organization
that vets renewable energy options. If that isn’t possible for you, take a
look at your electric bill; many utilities now list other ways to support
renewable sources on their monthly statements and websites.
3. SPEAK UP
Me, you, all of us are responsible of it. It's one of the biggest way you
can make. Talk to your acquaintances by voicing you.
4. REDUCE WATER WASTE
Saving water reduces carbon pollution, too. That's because it takes
a lot of energy to pump, heat, and treat your water. So take shorter
showers and turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
5. USE ENERGY WISELY—AND SAVE MONEY
TOO
By becoming more energy-efficient, you not only pollute less but
save money too.
6. URGE GOVERNMENT TO TAKE BOLD,
AMBITIOUS CLIMATE ACTION NOW
We now have a climate plan and accountabilityer is strong enough
to meet our goals. We need.

7. REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE

THAT’S ALL,
THANK YOU!!!
