Key Learnings

1) Design of tank using different types of resins because of their varying properties like
specific gravity and heat distortion temperature.

2) Coordination with Mr. Parimal Gole for understanding the design of blower and detail
study about basic mechanisms of blower & implementation of same in blower design
software . For example what is the static efficiency and total efficiency of blower.

3) What are coupled Blowers , mainly couplings are used for reducing the transmission of
vibrations from driving component (motor) to driver component (blower impeller).
Support Required

1) I need a updated price lists for resin prices in Rs/kg.

2) Also many times while preparing offer of VCFF type of tank means flat faced and flat
bolted top Dia of tanks are like 1200,1500 etc all this are non standard gaskets but we
have the price list of gaskets only up to 600 mm, so we need to update and to
standardise the price list for this non standard gaskets mainly used in top Cover.

3) Also we need to standardise the price list for wooden saddles depending on diameters of
the tank.

4) I need drawings of all types of Reactor supports for detail study.

5) We need to standardise the price list for sight glass and light glass and all MS structures
used in reactors.
 FAQ - Research Answer

1. What is the purpose behind using Slant Bottom in large capacity storage Tanks ?

Ans. Tanks with Slant bottom are also known as Cone Tanks Generally with 15°
slope, Mainly Flat Bottom and Slant Bottom are used to store liquids like water,
liquid fertilizer , liquid feed , salt brine and other liquids and chemicals. However,
some of these liquids are heavy (with higher specific gravity and can put lot of
stress on the tank ). Main Advantage of Cone Tank is that 100 % Drainage of stored
liquid can be achieved.

2. What is the Difference between Top Manhole and Side Manhole

Ans. Generally Top Manholes are subjected to low load as compared to side
manhole because side manholes are mounted on the shell of the tank where
there is adequate load acting on it due to liquid height as compared to top
manhole which is mounted on the roof of the tank , so the thickness of top
manhole should be lower as compared to side manhole which will have some cost
implication.
