GROUP #3
Objective:

To illustrate project close out and

review, stage and sequence, and
building information modelling.
What is Project close Out and Review?

It is the closing phase of project management; in other words it

is the final phase of project lifecycle.

This is the stage where all deliverables are finalized and

formally transferred, and all documentation is signed off,
approved and archived.
Importance of closing a project

Without a formal closing process, you risk letting crucial details

fall to the cracks, which can result in confusion, a never ending
project, dissatisfied clients, and even liability issues.

The closing phase also gives you the opportunity to review and
evaluate the project’s success(or failure), which is crucial for
planning and executing successful projects in the future.

By officially closing a project , you minimize risk, increase client

satisfaction, and ensure all parties are on the same page.
7 Steps to closing a project

1. Formally transfer all deliverables

2. Confirm project completion
3. Review all contracts and documentation
4. Release resources
5. Conduct a post-mortem
6. Archive documentation
7. Celebrate
QUESTIONS/COMMENTS
Stage and Sequence in Project Management

Stage – a project goes through stages from conception to

completion. This called the project life cycle.

The 5 Stages of Project Life Cycle

1. Project Initiation
2. Project Planning
3. Project Execution
4. Project Monitoring and Control
5. Project Closure
Sequence – a sequence activities illustrates the consistent
planning of work to get the highest effectiveness the project
constraint.

Importance of Determining Activity Sequencing:

1. Planning Formulation
2. Smooth flowing of activities from start to end
3. Systematic method for Time Tabling
4. For identifying hard part of the project.
The 3 Sequence Activities
1. Inputs – consist of project management plan such as the
schedules and scope baseline; Project Documents,
enterprise organizational factor, and organizational process
asset.

2. Tools and Techniques – consist of procedure diagramming

method; dependency determination and integration; leads
and lags; and project information system

3. Output – consist of project schedule network diagram, and

project document updates.

Building Information Modeling (BIM)
What is BIM?
It is a highly collaborative process that allows multiple stakeholders and AEC
(architecture, engineering, construction) professionals to collaborate on the planning,
design, and construction of a building within one 3D model.

From Blueprints to CAD to BIM

The Future of BIM

Because of the clear benefits, it’s certain BIM is here to stay and becomes
increasingly more sophisticated. 4D, 5D, and even 6D BIM will start to play a part in
the process.
10 Benefits of building Information Modeling (BIM)

1. Ultimate Collaboration
2. Better Visualization
3. Cost-effective
4. Step-by-step process
5. Improved productivity
6. Support energy efficiency
7. Better coordination
8. Continuity
9. Communication
10. On the go
