Elliptical Words
Do you know Elliptical word?

The elliptical word is an English pattern that is


used to approve someone’s idea. It might be called
positive or negative agreement. Because it can be
in positive or negative pattern.

“Too or So” are common words used in positive


Pattern, while “neither or either” are used in
negative pattern.
Too & So in Positive pattern
With auxiliary
(is/am/are/was/were)
• I am very happy and he is too
positive agreement
• I am very active and so is he
• How are u, I am fine..and you?
• me too/so am i
• They were late and you were too
• She was a student and so were you
• The lecture was handsome and he was too
• The man was a bodyguard and so was he
With the verbs (do/does/did/has/have)
Jumar comes to class lately and dimas does too/So
does dimas
• We go to eat lunch and you do too
• She goes to eat lunch and so do you
• You study English and the girl does too
• The students learn English and so does the girl
• Tom worked until night and you did too
