Safe Work Procedures

1. Ground condition shall be properly studied


and all existing services (if any) should be
located by engaging Licensed Cable
Detection Worker (LCDW) prior to the
commencement of excavation work.
2. Existing services shall be diverted
accordingly or warning signs shall be
displayed where necessary.
3. A designated person shall be engaged to

approved before start excavation works.
5. For trench excavation of more than 4m,
shoring shall be provided and shall be
designed by a Professional Engineer.

8. Proper means of access shall be provided; if
the excavation exceeds 1.2m meters deep

exceed 9m.

excavation exceeds 1.5 m deep and the
planks thickness should be 50 mm.

by backfilling; if possible. This is to avoid the
possibility of earth movement or person falling
into the trench.

collapse of the walls may result.

15. The excavation surface should be properly


paved or excavate accordingly to prevent

check the excavation after stormy weather as
per check list Form EHS- 9K.
