Weddings – are a meaning of unification (Ephesians 5:31-32)
- To Christ, it is a symbol of the Second Coming since it will be
the event wherein we, believers, will be united back with Christ
in His Holy Kingdom.

What is The Shidukkhin?

• The first part of a traditional Jewish wedding

• Occurs when the couple go and organize their marriage contracts with
consent from the bride and many more.
• As Abraham did for Isaac (Genesis 24:1-4), the father of the Groom is
the one that selects the bride for his son.
• The one who searches for the bride is the shadhkan, which is a
marriage matchmaker in their culture
• Once, they found the perfect bride, the shadhkan asks for consent and
if they agreed, they will be baptized.
Shidukhin Phase in the Biblical Perspective
• Jesus Christ is the Bridesgroom and God the Father is the Groom’s
father while the matchmaker is the Holy Spirit. (John 14:16)
• The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father in order to ask us (the Church)
to be in a forever covenant with Jesus Christ.
• When we opened our hearts for Him and let Him be our love of our
life, we are then baptized in the Name of Jesus and in His Blood.
• By being saved by our faith in Jesus, we believe in Him and get
baptized.
 What is the Erushin Phase?
• This phase is the betrothal phase
• It is a public ceremony because it happens first within a canopy (huppah) wherein the
groom seals their covenant with something valuable like a ring or a cup of wine
• Afterwards, the bride and groom will prepare for the party and the place where they
will spend the rest of their lives forever.
• The bride will be the one to prepare for the party while the groom will prepare the
house and many more things
• The last phase’s happening is unknown because the father of the groom will be the
one to give the go signal for the groom to pick up his bride
• The lamps are needed to give path for the bridesgroom if ever he arrives in the
nighttime because the hour or day of his arrival is unknown.
• If the guests have no lamps and showed up at the party, they are considered as party
poopers.
 Erushin Phase in the Parable
• In the parable:
• The 10 virgins were BRIDESMAIDS that were assisting the bride because:
• The Bride is focused on the personal party preparations like Wedding Dresses, lamps,
etc.
• The LAMPS are needed because the bride DOESN’T KNOW THE EXACT DAY OR
HOUR WHEN THE GROOM WILL COME
• The 5 wise virgins bought extra oil while the 5 foolish virgins didn’t
• The Bridesgroom arrived with the 5 foolish virgins running out of oil and asked the
wise ones if they have extra to spare
• The 5 foolish ones are declined to be given some oil and went out to buy but it was
late since the party has begun
• The bridesgroom denied them entry in the end.
 13 Christ bought us with His blood and made us
free from the Law. In that way, the Law could
not punish us. Christ did this by carrying the
load and by being punished instead of us. It is
written, “Anyone who hangs on a cross is hated
Jesus Bought us For and punished.”
the Price of His  14 Because of the price Christ Jesus paid, the
good things that came to Abraham might come
Death on the Cross to the people who are not Jews. And by putting
as a Seal of His our trust in Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit He
has promised.

Who are the Wise Virgins?
• The wise virgins are those who are the TRUE BELIEVERS, who are truly
born again and wholeheartedly and fully trusted and waited for the Lord’s
return
• These people were the ones who accepted Jesus Christ in their hearts and
faithfully followed Him NO MATTER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES COME
IN THEIR LIVES to the end.
• This is what them having extra oil meant. They were wise because they were
ready and eager for Christ’s return with their faith established on Jesus Christ
alone.
• Being READY means following Him despite the persecution of the world and
having our eyes fixed on Him, the prize of all the suffering.(Titus 2:11-14)

 • These people are those who just enjoy
being in a Christian church or
community without loving Jesus Christ
faithfully
• These are those who knew the Word,
turned away from Jesus and betrayed
Who are the their faith as said in Matthew 24.

Foolish Virgins • Along with them are the unbelievers as

well, who never heard of Jesus or His
Kingdom.
• They ignore the true meaning of being
saved and just wanted to be at the party
but miss the part of appreciating who is
there, which is our Lord Jesus Christ.
Why did the Foolish Virgins Ask for Extra
Oil?
• They asked for Oil because they believe their association with those who
really waited or the true believers will save them and bring them to Heaven

Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of
Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will
enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in
your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles
in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you
who break God’s laws.’
The Nissuin Part of the Wedding
• This is the part where the entire wedding happens. The event itself
• With tons of joy and praise, the bride and groom will recite their vows
and live their lives happily as a married couple
• This is the same thing as Jesus Christ’s return. The Wedding will occur
in Heaven when we are finally re-united with Christ on the Judgement
Day

 How the Wedding will Go
“16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God.
First, the believers who have died[a] will rise from their graves. 17 Then,
together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be
caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the
Lord forever. 18 So encourage each other with these words.”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
 How the Wedding will Go
Rapture
• In Greek it is known as Harpazo, which meant to seize or snatch away
• This is the event that happens like a thief that was a revelation to Paul in the
past in the book of 1 Thessalonians
• The event happens in the blink of an eye as Jesus Christ takes away the
CHURCH, or the true Believers of Christ from the Earth to meet up with
the Lord in the air
• This is believed to happen before the Great Tribulation and the 2nd coming of
Christ
• First, the ones who will be meeting Jesus in the air are those Christians who
are already dead before that event. Then, those living believers will be
meeting up with the Lord in the air.
 How the Wedding will Go
The Great Tribulation
• A 7 Year long period wherein there will be pain and suffering for those
who got LEFT BEHIND
• This is the period wherein the judgements from the opening of 7 Seals
from the Book of Revelation will be unleashed upon the Earth
• The seven seals consists of seven judgements wherein there is nothing but
pain and sorrow. However, if the left behind Christians will continue to
endure until the end, their faith will be rewarded. (Matthew 24:12)
 How Will the Wedding Go?

The 1st Seal/Judgement

• Daniel prophesied that in the end as shown by Archangel Gabriel, The
Freedom to Worship God will be Banned and the Antichrist will
Rise (Daniel 12:11)
• This is the First Seal of Judgement that God will unleash in the
Tribulation Period (Revelation 6:1-2): A Man Wearing a Crown,
Riding on a White Horse and Holding a Bow
 How Will the Wedding Go?
• The Antichrist is a group organization that showed their intentions to bring
peace to the world that is chaotic due to the rapture.
• The one they placed as God is the Beast that came from the Sea (Revelation
13) in which the false prophets & its main prophet (The 2nd Prophet) tries to
force everybody to worship that beast and have its mark: 666
• Those who will worship Jesus Christ other than the ones who they placed as God
will be killed (Daniel 9:27)
• Believers will be scattered and flee trying to escape the anger of the Antichrist
and it will be shortened for the sake of those who trust in God (Matthew 24)
• During this time as well, many will turn away from Jesus Christ and betray Him
and hate one another. (2 Timothy 3:1-5 & 1 Timothy 4:1-32)
 How Will the Wedding Go?
1 Timothy 4:1-2
Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away
from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come
from demons. 2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences
are dead.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For
people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing
at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3
They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control.
They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be
puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they
will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
 How Will the Wedding Go?

The 2nd Seal/Judgement

• This 2nd Seal of Judgement that God will unleash in the
Tribulation Period: Rider with a large sword on a fiery red
horse. (Revelation 6:3-4)
• This signalizes that a Great Warfare (World War III or Z) will
happen
 How Will the Wedding Go?

The 3rd Seal/Judgement

• This 3rd Seal of Judgement that God will unleash in the Tribulation
Period: Rider riding a black horse and “holding a pair of scales in
his hand. (Revelation 6:5-6)
• This signalizes that a Great Famine will happen and people will work
hard day and night and not even provide for the entire family.
 How Will the Wedding Go?

The 4th Seal/Judgement

• This 4th Seal of Judgement that God will unleash in the Tribulation
Period: pale horse. “Its rider was named Death, and Hades was
following close behind him” (Revelation 6:7–8)
• This signalizes that the judgement will be more gruesome and ¼ of the
Earth will be killed by the sword, incurable diseases, famine & wild
animals
 How Will the Wedding Go?

The 5th Seal/Judgement

• This 5th Seal of Judgement that God will unleash in the Tribulation
Period:” (Revelation 6:9–11)
• This signalizes that Evil will be widespread everywhere as Believers
all over the world that were left behind that has no sign of the beast
will be PERSECUTED and KILLED because they follow Jesus
Christ. (Marytrdom)
• God Promises to avenge for them, but on the 2nd Coming of Christ.
 How Will the Wedding Go?
The 6th Seal/Judgement
• This 6th Seal of Judgement that God will unleash in the Tribulation Period: a
Devastating Eathquake That causes unbelievable phenomena (Revelation 6:12-14)
• This signalizes that a devastating earthquake will happen which destroys the world with
unusual astronomical phenomena: the sun turns black, and the moon turns blood-red,
and “the heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island
was removed from its place”
• Survivors of the sixth seal, regardless of their social position, take refuge in caves
and cry out to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face
of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day
of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” (verses 16–17).
 How Will the Wedding Go?
Interlude
• God will save His Children that Endured Everything by marking them with the
golden seal of the lamb
• They were taken into Heaven to join in the Celebration of the Unification of the
Church and Christ (Revelation 7:1-17)
• Jesus Christ ascended them all to Heaven dead and alive and made their bodies
glorified and washed their robes with the Blood of Jesus Christ
• This was just like what happened with Lot and His Daughters before He unleashed
His anger upon Sodom and Gomorrah & Noah and His Family before the flood
 How Will the Wedding Go?
The 7th Seal/Judgement
• This 7th Seal of Judgement that God will unleash in the
Tribulation Period: THE JUDGEMENT DAY. (Revelation 8)
• Once this seal is opened, the world will come at an end and
signalizes the sounding of the seven trumpets and bowls which
will destroy the world.
 How Will the Wedding Go?
The 7 Trumpets
• The trumpets include hail and fire that destroy much of the plant
life in the world (Revelation 8:7), the death of much of the world’s
aquatic life (Revelation 8:8–9; 8:10–11), the darkening of the sun
and moon (Revelation 8:12), a plague of “demonic locusts” that
torture the unsaved (Revelation 9:1–11), and the march of a
demonic army that kills a third of humanity (Revelation 9:12–21).
• The Seventh Trumpet is the part wherein God judges the unsaved
by pouring out the seven bowls of His wrath.
 How Will the Wedding Go?
The 7 Bowls of God’s Wrath
• The bowls include painful sores afflicting humanity (Revelation 16:2),
the death of every living thing in the sea (Revelation 16:3), the turning of
rivers to blood (Revelation 16:4–7), an intensifying of the sun’s heat
(Revelation 16:8–9), great darkness and an intensification of the sores
from the first bowl (Revelation 16:10–11), the advance of the Antichrist’s
armies at Armageddon (Revelation 16:12–14), and a devastating
earthquake followed by giant hailstones (Revelation 16:15–21).
• Once the world is destroyed, Jesus Christ will judge the Unsaved and
establish His reign for the Great Millenium
 How Will the Wedding Go?
“ Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened,
and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven,
and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. Then something special
will be seen in the sky telling of the Son of Man. All nations of the earth
will have sorrow. They will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of
the sky with power and shining-greatness. He will send His angels with
the loud sound of a horn. They will gather God’s people together from the
four winds. They will come from one end of the heavens to the other.”

How will the Wedding Go?
• So, first, the Lord HIMSELF Comes down from Heaven with a shout of the
Archangel and a trumpet call of God (Shofar).
• This is the same as the shout at midnight in the parable (Matthew 25:6)
• Then, those who believed in God until the end will be overjoyed but those
who do not will mourn.
• The Lord will resurrect those who were dead first in Israel and will go back
to their land and into His Kingdom (Ezekiel 37)
• The Lord will come with His Army of Angels (The Battle of Armageddon)
• Then the Lord will judge the people on who will enter the Newly Restored
Kingdom on Earth and those who will enter the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20)
 How Will the Wedding Go?
• Christ will come like the times of Noah (Genesis 6:5; 11-13)
• He will come like a Thief (1 Thessalonians 5:2-6)
• Being Watchful and Vigilant of this Happening must be Applied today.
• Acts 1:7 says and applies the old tradition of Jewish wedding that
• “THE FATHER ALONE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO SET THOSE DATES
AND TIMES.” They are not for us to know.
• However, as part of the Church (HIS BRIDE), we are left with a party
preparation to do, which is our MISSION, We are assigned to share the Good
News to the Ends of the Earth as His Witnesses about His Goodness and His
Promise of Return.

 • There is no uncertainty when He
will come, but it is best to be
prepared (have extra oil)
• Having extra oil is by fixing our
eyes on Jesus Christ and being the
light into this dark world
CONCLUSION • Being someone who procrastinates
on doing the right thing when He
comes is foolish, so do it now. He
waits for everyone to repent and
hear His Invitation
